Background:>
The reports by state-run TV and the semi-official Fars news agency provided no further details.
Iran's rulers have accused the West of stoking unrest following a bitterly disputed June 12 presidential election, singling out Britain and the US for alleged meddling.
Britain's foreign secretary on Sunday described the detention of British Embassy employees in Iran as "harassment and intimidation."
David Miliband, who is on the Greek island of Corfu for a meeting of foreign ministers' from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, said Britain has protested to the Iranian authorities about the detentions, which he said occurred Saturday.
"This is harassment and intimidation of a kind which is quite unacceptable," Miliband said. "These are hardworking diplomatic staff. The idea that the British Embassy is somehow behind the demonstrations and protests that have been taking place in Tehran. ... is wholly without foundation."

Britain's Foreign Office said on Friday it was "very concerned" by reports from Iran that local embassy staff may face trial in connection with demonstrations against last month's presidential election.
"We are very concerned by these reports and are investigating," a spokeswoman said. "Allegations that our staff are involved in fomenting unrest are wholly without foundation. We will be seeking an urgent explanation from the Iranians."
She said British authorities were speaking to the Iranian embassy in London and to Iranian officials in Tehran.
Two local employees of the embassy are being held by the Iranian authorities, accused of inciting violence during demonstrations against the election results.
