Is Michael Jackson still alive?

Settled as No

All evidence points to definitely dead.

Background:

Background: Celebrities are accused of faking their deaths all the time -- Elvis, Andy Kaufman, Jim Morrison, just to name a few. Is it possible the King of Pop has pulled off the ultimate vanishing act?

Settlement details:Will settle as "yes" if, before the question suspends, it is determined that Michael Jackson is confirmed to have been alive at any point past June 26, 2009. As reported by a major mainstream news source.

Settlement requested Fri 7th Aug 3:58pm PST by bookie: I've waited 4 more weeks, this question is also dead.

@Jennie

C'mon, surely this can now be settled.

Suspend dates are changed all the time. The question itself does not give a date.

Keeping it open makes a mockery of the death market ban. Imagine if a tabloid newspaper wrote about this Hubdub market.

It is also unfair. If I had a lot of spare cash, sure, I'd go for the sure return. Instead I have 3x as much tied up in this market as I have in cash - and if I cash out, I'll lose most or all of my winnings, having 'chanced it' when the market was new.

However, I gave the most important reason to settle previously - which you rejected. Legally, he is dead. It was reported by MSM. Please, reconsider.

THIS should be voided apart from being a death q
it makes complete fools world wide who are mourning.
posted 20 weeks ago
@curios:

I respectfully disagree. Fools worldwide will find something else to mourn about, so they would not feel cheated. It is nice to have that concern though.

@notable so if you die are you saying people who mourn your death they are fools?
actualy he may have been a good entertaner, but i do not hold any flag for who could have been a child molester/

perhaps you should set a q ,
will it be proved or is. wacko jacko was a child molester
posted 20 weeks ago
@curios:

I really doubt people worldwide would mourn my death, but hey, whatever "floats your boat", as they say.

I agree with you about child molesters. They say Mr Jackson was never convicted, but he was an utter fool to allow the circumstances to transpire as they did even in his versions of the stories.

as long as he doesn't show his Long Death Certificate I will not believe that he is dead!

too much money spend to make us believe that he is that ! suspicious!

don't trust it! he ain't dead and he didn't die in LA last weeek ... he is in Kenya

let's start a billboard campaign. I've an idea for a slogan. could be something along these lines, maybe, let's see, like ...

"Where's the Death Certificate?"

And he was Muslim .... uhhh, scary Muslims, all these fanatic Muslims, uhhhh!

These facts were hidden from us the PEOPLE

@Kruijs - well now MJ's brain has been removed, he'll be eligible to:

a) run for President on a Repubican ticket... 35%
b) play Scarecrow in the 21st century remake of The Wiz 35%
c) commit apostasy by having a Xtian funeral 25%
d) any other outcome 5%

Suspends disbelief....

I note that the question does say "As reported by a mainstream news source..." - and I had waited to request settlement until the death certificate was available as official confirmation.

Legally the certificate is conclusive proof of death - even if the person is in fact alive (e.g. when a person is presumed dead after being missing long enough, etc.). There is no way that this death certificate could be challenged and set aside in the few weeks before suspension, even if MJ came to court with Elvis and Jesus at either side.

If not settled now, how will the question ever be settled - assuming he is dead, of course. It will just linger forever in suspended status, as the question (as worded) has no provision for settling "no", only for settling "yes".

All - this market will settle upon suspend in 7 weeks. Feel free to pour your money in as I think this one is a pretty safe bet. BUT, it won't be settled prior to the suspend date (unless of course, he actually *is* alive)

I saw this video and thought of this market. Does that happen to all hubdubbers? You see something in the news or on TV that is interesting and your first instinct is...I need to put $H on that. :)

(not saying that I would actually wager that he's alive, but it made me think of this market.)
