What's the criteria separating music from singing? For example, the country singer, who plays guitar. What group would you classify him in?

@buckeye - If he's a singer then it comes under "singing". There are some groups that just play music, which would come under "music".

I haven't heard any singers to this point that I am completely impressed with. Maybe I have been spoiled by the talent put forth from Idol. I just don't think anything I've heard is to that level yet this season.

@philculp - Totally agree. That's pretty much always my opinion of the singing on AGT -- the good ones to go Idol and AGT gets the rest. There do tend to be some great older people who were busy raising kids during their "prime" and are now ready to step out and follow their dream, but those stories are few and far between. Personally, I love the variety stuff -- the ones that really don't have another large scale venue for their act.

Its funny, I had only watched half of the last episoded when I commented. I was really impressed w/ the Mia girl, but still not to the level of Idol.
