It was SBY-Boediono in a landslide, and Indonesia's General Election Commission officially declared Yudhoyono the victor of the election on July 23.

Background: On July 8, Indonesians will participate in their nation's second democratic election. Incumbent Susilio Bambang Yudhoyono and his deputy Boediono (SBY-Boediono) are considered the favorites. The two other candidates are former president Megawati Sukarnoputri and her deputy Prabowo Subianto (Mega-Pro) and vice president Jusuf Kalla and his deputy Wiranto (JK-Win).

Recent polls vary widely. However, they all favor SBY over the other candidates.

SBY has a 92 percent approval rating.
