Regular gasoline or diesel fuel: which will cost more on Monday, July 6, 2009?

Settled as regular gas costs 0.1 to 1 cent less than diesel

Difference was 0.8 cents less than diesel

Background:

Background: For a long time, diesel was more expensive than gasoline, then a few weeks ago, the price of regular gas shot up and left diesel in the dust. Now a curious thing has happened: for the past two days, both cost exactly the same, according to AAA's fuelgaugereport: $2.629 yesterday and $2.627 today http://www.fuelgaugereport.com/
So, which one will cost more on Monday, July 6, 2009 and by how much? I don't have a clue - do you?

Settlement details:As reported by http://www.fuelgaugereport.com/ on Monday, July 6, 2009

OK...here's a problem with rounding again....today's report shows regular being $0.008 less than diesel, but the options call for it being either the same, or 0.1 to 1 cent more or less, or greater.

Yet the background refers to the previous prices of $2.629 and $2.627 as being the same, when in fact they are 0.2 cents different (or $0.002)...

I feel like it should be settled as 0.1 to 1 cent less than diesel...but just wanted to see if there was any discussion before settlement....

I think you are correct bayoubear. Converting the cents to dollars or dollars to cents helps.

I read "regular gas costs 0.1 to 1 cent less than diesel" as "regular gas costs 0.1cent to 1 cent less than diesel" or IOW: $0.001 - $0.01, and $0.008 is between those.

Or converting $0.008 to cents we have 0.8 cents which falls between 0.1 to 1 cents.
