Background: "POST FALLS, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho woman face charges that she had sex with a 14-year-old boy that she was hired to watch in August 2007.

KXLY-TV reported Tuesday that 28-year-old Summer Nelson, of Post Falls, was charged Monday with four counts of lewd conduct with a child.

Court records say Nelson was a friend of the boy's mother. Police say the abuse was reported in December 2008, after the boy's mother grew suspicious of Nelson's attention Nelson toward the boy.

Investigators say Nelson told the boy's siblings that she was in love with their brother. Detectives say Nelson and the boy had at least four sexual encounters."

Personally, as a 14-year-old "boy", I was praying daily that my babysitter would find it in her heart to molest me. It's my personal opinion that society is trying to legislate morality for politically correct reasons. I understand that there are ground rules like this for a reason but the idea that this 14-year-old boy is going to be "destroyed" by this event strikes me as unlikely. It's far more likely that he will look back on it with nostalgia and a sense of self-pride. Just maybe?...

As an interesting side note, it's worth mentioning that if a man were to commit the same offence, public opinion would be decidedly more harsh despite the fact that girls on average mature emotionally before their teenage boy counterparts. Yet somehow, when woman in their late 20ies to 40ies "have relationships" with younger boys, the public view of the crime is a little different. While it's viewed as a crime nonetheless, it's arguably viewed as less of a crime when it's committed by a woman versus a man. Personally, I think each and every case needs to be analyzed in its original context as not all "sex offenders" are the same. Some people that get charged as sex offenders are no more likely to sexual assault someone than the average population. It just happens that they were unlucky enough to live in a very PC time where there is little to no room for exceptions. The world in essence is treating as a Cookie-cutter world where all crimes are lumped into general categories, despite their variance in severity and circumstances.

I prayed for a babysitter to show me the ways of the world. Never happened. Anything more than a slap on the wrist would be a shame. If she is pretty and remorseful she should get probation. Certainly it is a double standard even if for example the 14 year old girl totally came onto the 28 year old guy.

According to a document in googles cache, she was scheduled for a 5 day jury trial starting last month ( http://tinyurl.com/yks3oew ). However, I can't find anything regarding whether the trial took place or what its outcome was. She is not on the roster of inmates for the jail she had been kept in - http://www.kcsheriff.com/jailroster.htm . Also, I don't see her listed in the Idaho sex offender registry.
