President Obama Primetime Press Conf. 7/22/09: How long will TOTUS prompt before failure?
In a first for the administration's relations with the media, the "tweet" announced the question-and-answer session before the White House sent out a traditional press release.
"You heard it here first: Primetime presidential news conference at the White House, Wed. 7/22 @ 9PM EDT," read the post to the 140-character blogging site on the administration's official website http://twitter.com/WhiteHouse.
The Obama administration, building on efforts by his predecessor George W. Bush's communications team, has aggressively used new media and social networking in a bid to reach as wide an audience as possible with a message unfiltered by the news media. The press conference will be Obama's fourth prime-time televised session with reporters.

The clock will start with the first word TOTUS prompts, and end when POTUS calls on the first reporter to ask a question. This might take a day or two to settle. Will use a video from whitehouse.gov or youtube to settle it.
Settlement rules: ***TAKE NOTE*** This will not settle on rumors, speculation or opinion. President Obama must expressly comment on the failure. The only exceptions are visible failures such as crashing or falling or someone entering the scene to perform adjustments during the Presidents speech.
***WARNING*** - In the case of settlement problems or disputes, Category Editor has the final say.
Settlement details:As reported by a major mainstream news source.

The Wrong Reporter Asks Obama A Question
When Obama, in the course of answering the question, mentioned that he'd been stopping in Cleveland the next day, bits of laughter erupted.
"I thought, this isn't right," Thomma recalled after the press conference was over. "I gave him a quizzical look and he gave me a quizzical look."

TOTUS hasn't commented yet... in defense of the TOTUS, he was programmed to respond to Steve Koff of Cleavland - NOT Steven Thomma of McClatchy.
