Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips was asked whether it would be accurate to term this season a “now or never” campaign for an underachieving linebacker.

“That's just business,” Phillips said. “It's now or never for most people involved in football. That's not any different than most of our players.

“And maybe even coaches.”

Considering he's entering the final season of his three-year contract without a playoff win to his credit, it's no surprise Phillips made that final comment.

The Cowboys are 22-11 in two seasons under Phillips, whose deal includes an option for a fourth season. But there's been no public talk of an extension from owner Jerry Jones.

Phillips is 0-4 in the playoffs, including 0-1 with the Cowboys.
