What type of US president will next visit North Korea?

Background: On August 5, 2009, former president Bill Clinton became the second former US president to visit North Korea. During the visit, he met with Kim Jong Il to secure the release of journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee.

In 1994, Jimmy Carter became the first former president to visit North Korea.

Would the "sitting" president count as "former" president if he goes there in, let's say, 8 years?

but the "none by suspension" option is definitely missing.

Sitting president refers to the president in office at the time of the visit.
