In addition to voting what you thing WILL happen, there should be another option of what you HOPE will happen. In this case, i'd go with D.

Do guest appearances count as "signing"? If she make one appearance on SYTYCD, does that count?
posted 15 weeks ago
@bostongraf - My first inclination is to say 'no', but I think a lot of it will depend on the language of the press release. This market is concerned with her signing a deal. I don't believe a guest appearance requires much in the way of contractual paperwork, so I would imagine it would not count. However, most of the judges on SYTYCD are also choreographers for the show. In that case, it *would* count. So, I guess we'll just have to wait and see :)

bostongraf asked a good question and got a surprisingly UNCLEAR answer. A definite clarification is needed here, so that we don't end up with a OH-OH question. OK?

All television appearances involve paperwork, waivers, and an agent (in Paula Abdul's case). However, the author of this question APPEARS to have intended a question involving a regular season contract (rather than a guest appearance or two). Can this please be clarified at this time in specific settlement terms? Thanks.

My intent when creating the market was for it to be a permanent placement on the show, not just a guest appearance. However, I think Jenni does a great job interpreting intent. I think her explanation was right on in saying that if a firm contract is signed then the question will settle as yes, if no contract is signed then it does not count.

Dancing with the stars seems interested in her.

Just because she's hosting a Televised special concert doesn't mean she won't be going back to Idol, or do something else. She could have easily hosted something like this when she was on Idol. It's not like VH1 Divas is a series, it's more of an annual event. So I don't see how this can be settled just yet.

This question specifically asks where will she sign next. She has signed a contract with VH 1 Divas to be a host on their show. Nowhere in the question is it inferred or implied that the show has to be a singular performance or a long running series, it only asks where will she sign next.
posted 12 weeks ago
I guess you are technically right, I'm pretty sure that most people read the question with the assumption that it was asking what her next move would be in a more permanent position and not hosting a special.

VH1 Divas is not a reality show! Reality shows show the lives of ordinary people, or have ordinary people doing a contest such as Survivor or American Idol. The question specifically asked about a reality show. I request another review. A concert special showing famous female singers is not a reality show.

@tgallag2 - You should flag a question when you disagree with a settlement. Sometimes I miss comments...

I actually agree with you. I thought VH1 Divas was a reality show so after your comment went and looked it up again. I agree that a benefit concert should not settle this market, so I'll be reopening it.

Idol just signed Ellen to take the 4th seat. We can essentially rule Abdul returning there. http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2009/09/american-idol-ellen-degeneres-replaces-paula-abdul-as-fourth-judge.html

I'm beginning to think Paula made the biggest mistake of her career. Everyone is seeming to forget about her now that Ellen has signed on, and even if she gets another gig, it certainly won't be to the level (or salary) of idol.

I noticed on last night's SYTYCD that they had a chair for Paula as a guest judge. Would that count?
posted 3 weeks ago
No, this question isn't about Paula's chair but Paula herself ;)
