A fresh look at the division race

As we recalibrate the NFC North after Brett Favre's arrival in Minnesota, we should start with this:
During the past 2 seasons, Vikings quarterbacks compiled the NFL's 2nd-worst passer rating in division games. Yes, Minnesota did win 7 of those 12 games. But generally speaking, it's difficult to win division championships when your quarterbacks throw almost twice as many interceptions as touchdown passes in division games.
Favre is without question an upgrade at the position.
With Favre, the Vikings are the preseason favorites to win the division. The move was the final step in an epic offseason of quarterback improvement in 3 of the 4 cities, one that appears enough to keep the Vikings a step ahead of their division rivals.
In fact, the Vikings should be considered among a handful of candidates to win the entire NFC as long as they stay healthy.
"My expectations are high and this team is a good football team," Favre said. "I didn't come here to lose."
Chicago has without a doubt improved itself by acquiring QB Jay Cutler.
Green Bay should have an explosive offense this season and I consider the Packers a strong playoff contender
The Packers overhauled their defensive scheme and coaching staff. The Bears traded for Cutler and signed one of the game's better left tackles in Orlando Pace. The Vikings took a big risk on rookie receiver Percy Harvin and now have a future Hall of Famer playing quarterback.
It's now fair to wonder not just who will win the division, but also how many wild-card teams might come from the Black and Blue. Personally, I'd consider it a disappointment if there aren't at least 2 playoff teams in this division.

In the NFC, only 1 team made it from the South = New Orleans,
and only 1 team made it from the West = Arizona!
There will be 2 teams but in those divisions nobody has clinched a wild card they are in the bubble. There is always 2 teams from every division in the NFL.
