When will the unemployment rate in the USA drop below 9%?
Background: As of July, the unemployment rate, predicted widely to be heading to 10% or more, unexpectedly dropped from 9.5% to 9.4%. Was that just a head-fake or are we starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel? The economy seems to be stabilizing, but the auto industry and other sectors are still struggling. Instant recovery does not seem to be in the cards. With unemployment this high, it will not happen overnight, but the global recession seems to be coming to an end. FYI, the average unemployment rate for the year 2008 was 5.8%
