Will Elderly Couple be let out of State Custody this year?

Background: DALLAS - They’re not criminals. They’ve broken no laws. But they’re being held against their will by the State of Texas. Why? It’s a tragic story about what can happen when you are alone in the world and lose control of your rights, your money, and your ability to complain.

Jean and Michael Kidd never imagined their retirement would play out like this. “I feel like I am not in America,” said Michael Kidd. “I can’t believe I have been hi-jacked off the street, virtually from the hospital, and imprisoned,” Kidd told FOX 4.http://www.myfoxdfw.com/dpp/news/investigative/Elderly_Couple_Forced_into_St

WOW, what a sad story.
Unfortunately, I have wagered that the couple will not be released this year.

This is why you need your will, living will, health care surrogate, durable power of attorney. Terry Schivo gave us a warning, maybe this unfortunate couple will give us our 2nd warning and save a few more people. Don't we know that if we don't let our wishes be known, then the State will do what they think is best. They were apparently not too poor to afford an attorney. A few hundred dollars and planning would have prevented all of this.
