mdad8200 Will Sprint be acquired, by cable/satellite provider seeking to compete with ATT & Verizon in 2010.
Background: AT&T and Verizon offer integrated wireless phone, cable and land based phone services. Sprint is being challenged by its larger rivals and other cable providers are also being challenged by the move away from traditional phone and television services. Vertically integrated providers seem to be capturing greater market share and seem better able to meet the capital requirements for media driven networks. Merging with a large cable or satellite provider could be considered the only way for Sprint and a partner to compete with these larger rivals.
