: Ida has weakened from a Category 2 hurricane--the highest intensiity it reached--just 12 hours ago to a tropical storm It's moving over much cooler waters, and wind shear is blowing what's left of the storm apart.Ida is in the midst of a transition from a tropical system to an extratropical system, and there is absolutely no chance of regeneration.
