US dollar: up or down vs. the Euro? Which will come first: $1.44 or $1.50 by Nov. 30, 2009?
Background: The Euro started the year at about $ US 1.39, but dropped to a low of 1.254 in early March. For several weeks, the greenback had been bouncing in a narrow range between $1.40 and 1.45 to the € but broke above that range in early September. Currently, the rate is $1.4715 = 1€. Will the Euro continue to climb, stall or will the greenback fight back?
So, the question is: will the value of the € drop to $1.44 or less, rise to $1.50 or more, or remain between the two values by close of trading on November 30, 2009? Settlement will be based on closing price as reported on www.finance.yahoo.com between now and close of trading on November 30, 2009.
