Background: For our friends above us, where will the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX Composite Index close this Friday, November 6?

This Canadian index is very volatile, and often moves much more sharply than others. And also does vary from the US markets in its movements. So this may prove a bit more difficult to predict.

Last week we saw the TSX close at 10880.33, down about 500 points from the previous Friday. There were pretty big losses seen in most exchanges worldwide, and Toronto was no different.

Will there be gains made this week to make up for last week's losses?

There have been some strong gains for the TSX over the past few weeks...back during the summer it had fallen below 10,000.
