Background: Chiefs running back Larry Johnson comes back from his suspension next week, but some fans are already asking the team to bench him. By Wednesday night, nearly 8,000 people had signed an online petition asking the Chiefs to deactivate Johnson.
Since Johnson is only 75 yards away from becoming the team's all-time leading rusher, the fans are asking General Manager Scott Pioli to stop that from happening.

Johnson currently needs just 75 more yards to surpass the record set by Holmes who holds the Chiefs' rushing record with 6,070 yards; Johnson currently has 5,996 yards.
Johnson will miss Sunday’s game (Week 9) against the Jacksonville Jaguars after being suspended for controversial comments posted on his Twitter account and won't be allowed to participate in team activities until Nov. 9th.
