Will Final Health Care Bill be posted online for at least 72 hours before vote on House floor?
House members are still negotiating important issues in the bill--whether it will provide taxpayer-funding for abortions, for example. Pelosi is pushing for a Saturday House vote, and a number of big changes will be introduced, likely less than 24 hours before the vote takes place (if in fact it does). The Rules Committee hasn't yet released its resolution, or rule, that must be passed before the bill can move from committee to the floor. The rule will set the terms of debate and determine what amendments are in order.

The current congress, the 111th United States Congress, runs from January 3, 2009, until January 3, 2011 consisting of 2, 1 year sessions.
I believe that a bill is 'alive' for the length of the 111th, not just the 1st or 2nd session.
But, I'm gonna have to dig.
More info than I can begin to digest, is shown here:
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/capitol-briefing/2009/11/the_house_health_care_debate_w.html
The House begins debate at 9 a.m. Saturday on a massive health-insurance overhaul, with a final vote expected by the evening. In the intervening hours, there will be several key moments that will provide a foreshadowing of the final outcome.
If this amendment becomes part of HR3962 it would be probable that those previously mentioned 40 Democrats would vote in favor of the bill.
If the amendment fails, many of those 40 would oppose final passage.
How will Republicans vote (if at all) on the Stupak amendment, which they favor?

The measure was approved, 240 to 194, as 64 Democrats joined 176 Republicans to back the change.
wheres newt when you need him? defeat the amendment, likely the bill don't pass. oh well win some lose some. one step closer to seeing if the fed govt can mandate people to buy health insurance.
“In the run-up to a final vote, conservatives from the two political parties joined forces to impose tough new restrictions on abortion coverage in insurance policies to be sold to many individuals and small groups. They prevailed on a roll call of 240-194.
Ironically, that only solidified support for the legislation, clearing the way for conservative Democrats to vote for it.”

I’m truly suprised that Republicans voted for this measure.
I figured that the Republicans had the Democrats in a corner.
If the Stupak amendment failed, the consevative Dems (don’t laugh, bear with me, please) would be prone to vote against 3962.
As the article states, “Ironically, that only solidified support for the legislation, clearing the way for conservative Democrats to vote for it.”
Am I the only one that saw this, or am I missing something?
