Background:
Background: Separate from the other Hubdub question that includes "universal healthcare", this question is will any major healthcare reform bill become law. The House and Senate have each passed their own bills, yet there are still significant differences between them. The healthcare deals are widely unpopular in public opinion polls. Republican Scott Brown is running a close race for the Massachusetts Senate seat and if he wins will take the 60 seat supermajority in the Senate away from the Democrats. The Democrats could win MA and resolve their disconnects to pass a healthcare bill or even convince a Republican or two to vote for the bill. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have also threatened to use reconciliation to pass the bill with only 51 votes in the Senate.
