The Extraterrestrial Civil Liberties Union will have a field day in court, when space aliens are denied equal housing.
But he is a whackjob!
I read somewhere he is 54 y/o and still lives at home w/parents.
And he has a device he is selling:

I think you are right about him getting 4000 signatures.
that says it all!

Jeff Peckman has a booth at the fair and I think he might get his 4K sigs this weekend.
I start work at 4:00 AM, so watching Letterman is not on my usual schedule.

It might be 5000 or it might be none. I know because I have looked there too.
My earlier posting is the closest thing I could find as to how many signatures he has collected. It's still better than a link to an article about an imaginary conversation. . .
As for me turning this market around on you - that logic assumes that people actually listen to me in the first place. Name just (1) ONE thing that I have said which changed your mind.
I rest my case, your honor.
P.S. I lost 41K $H on that stupid Michel Fournier record setting high speed, high altitude parachute attempt. I realized it was stupid for me to not diversify my betting more and I only blame myself.
I will write a short note to the contact info on the official website and ask if there is any place to keep track of the number of valid signatures being collected. No way to tell if this will get any response, but it cannot hurt.
No response on that, but I am now on a mailing list - the first one of which invites me to listen to a noted speaker on UFOlogy tomorrow night.
I did receive another email from Mr. Jeff Peckman, which gave a little more info about the campaign. I am violating a trust, if I write to him in confidence, then post his response on a public forum. But to paraphrase what he said,
. . .Current count is unclear, because the volunteers collect them and only submit tallies once in a while. Best guess estimate at this time (7-9-2008) is about 5%.
You are right about Denver having enough problems with Illegal Aliens. Then we have to deal with slimy Democratic Governor Bill Ritter who, before being elected, offered "Agricultural Trespass" to illegal aliens who had previous convictions as sex offenders and drug dealers.
But I digress. . .
