Which starting figure are we using? Also, why not post the initial numbers with the question?

From reading the question I presume the author means percentage change from first open in May to last close in May. As you say DAX open was 6,982.06, and Mibtel open was 26,027.00. I will put these in the background.

I am going to let this question run as it was created so long ago but in future we need to restrict these questions to those permitted in the rules (Dow Jones Industrial Average, NASDAQ Composite Index, FTSE 100, DAX, BSE, Nikkei and Hang Seng).
