Since qualifying day 2 was rained out along with several practice periods, would it be possible to delay the suspend date to after Carb Day, Friday 23 May 2008. (6pm Eastern, 3pm Pacific, 22:00 GMT). This would give people more time to vote after knowing who qualifies and their starting positions.

Does anyone have any objections to this idea?

This is my question and I approve of this change.

Has the bump date been rescheduled based on rain outs?

This is absurd to suspend all the Indy questions 2 days before the race.
What we will waiting in the meantime?
Btw, this is the one sports event when so called 'in-running' must be allowed - major race, last very long time, many and sudden changes occur. The question may (and should) be open at least 2 hours in the race.
I propose to the editors to allow (for the first time) this (and the others Indy 500) question to be open during this sporting event.

The 'in-running' thing is new to me, I've not been on the get satisfaction board in a while since it won't let me log in, so I don't know about that.

This question has been open all month, there's been plenty of time to place bets. Some of the F1 race questions use to suspend before qualifying took place, which is absurd. The final practice is today, no cars will be on track after today until the race. If the suspend time is delayed till midnight tomorrow, that'll be alright, but besides getting another 24 hours, nothing else will be gained in my opinion. I was just trying to keep the times related to the happenings at the track.

"In-running" questions are foreseen in the "Rules" - section 2.3.2 - 5:
"Hubdub may select which questions will be suitable for in-running during a sporting event and will amend the suspend time appropriately. In this event, users will be notified which questions are in-running via the question title (which will be marked IN-RUNNING) and the Get Satisfaction notice board."

As far as I know, after the Superbowl there was not such case.
On the other hand, I think that the interest in given sports question increase with the approach of the event. For me, it is always very disapointing to find that such a question is already suspended prior to the beginning of the event and wages are not any more allowed. May be, it's the same with other users.

Maybe this is something we can solve with having super users. In the past in running questions were discouraged because an editor or admin wasn't available to watch market. Now if a superuser agrees to follow game live and can suspend questions as outcome is known then why not allow in game questions, then maybe we can allow them. I am just thinking out loud. Curious what others think.
