5. 31 May - Discovery STS 124
Background:>
These are [date; rocket; payload/spacecraft]:
May 14 - Soyuz • Progress 29P
May 23 - Ariane 5 • Skynet 5C & Turksat 3A
Late May - Sea Launch • Galaxy 18
May 31 - Shuttle Discovery STS 124 • ISS 1J
TBD - Delta 2 • GLAST
'TBD' is for 'to be determined' and means that the launch date for GLAST is not yet officially determined, altough unofficialy is May 31. But, giving that shuttle Discovery is scheluded for launch the same date, most probably GLAST will slip into June.
Outside these known launches, pending are one or two chinese launches of which little is known, at least until the launch itself occur.
So the maximum would be 7, but it appears that it'll be never reached.
Let's try to predict how many launches will be until the end of May.
Suborbital launches do not count.
