In his previous role as MP for Henley and Editor of the Spectator magazine Johnson has been forced to apologise to the residents of Liverpool after accusing them of 'wallowing in grief' after the beheading of Ken Bigley. He has also been criticised for comments made about alleged cannibalism in Papua New-Guinea; Jamie Oliver and the town of Portsmouth, amongst others.
