Reason: I did read the settlement rules but I think its just to hard to settle. There will be unnecessary debates on whats MSM is considered MSM. Also the market will also cause some problems due to how a report of "blackmail" is defined
All questions are settled by Hubdub according to settlement info provided by the question creator.

Settlement details:
For this to settle as "YES" it must be reported by a major mainstream news source that Hillary allegedly blackmails Barack for cash.

Any alleged non-cash blackmail(s) would settle as "NO" unless it directly/indirectly results in financial compensation for Hillary
Ex: Gainful employment, financial contributions from a third person/party, etc.

False allegations and/or rumors and/or opinions will settle as "NO" unless a major mainstream news source considers the allegations/rumors/opinions credible/substantial enough to report.

Suspend date: this Monday 12:59am PDT (4 days to go)

Initial likelihoods: Yes: 30%

Fascinating question! The word "blackmail" is NOT a personal opinion, but a word we are actually going to look for in a mainstream news article...STRONG STUFF, but completely possible!

easy money - this won't happen

Not to be pedantry.... but in a scenario where Hillary stops running, keeps smiling and Barak blithely responds that "we worked something out..." would be a "No" settlement, correct?

@valornhonor - Yeah, afraid so... but if you (or any other Hubduber) are employed in the news industry maybe you could start a blackmail rumor and convince a major mainstream news source to report it.

Maybe McCain could help us get this settled as a "YES"... but I think he's busy this week introducing legislation mandating drug testing for mail sorters and baggage handlers.

The author, fingers_of_fury made it very clear that we were looking for the specific word "blackmail", to be used directly (as ryan frequently requires). What is the problem? Why has this been voided? What could be simpler?

It's just like when the word Iraq/Iraqi would be tested at the Oscars this year...

Hi,

I think it's just to hard to settle. There will be unnecessary debates on whats MSM is considered MSM. Also the market will cause some problems due to how a report of "blackmail" is defined. Perhaps if we had a market like this but only using one settlement source? I'm just worried that when I settle this based on a news report some users will agree with me and others won't so it'll be hard to settle conclusively.

Regards,

Ryan
