Settled as Bob Barr
[from wikipedia]
The 2008 Libertarian National Convention will be held from May 22 to May 26 at the Sheraton Hotel (formerly the Adam's Mark Hotel)[1] in Denver, Colorado. The convention, sponsored by the United States Libertarian Party, will nominate a candidate for the presidency and vice-presidency in the 2008 presidential election through the convention process.
Libertarian Party
Candidates for the Libertarian Party:
Bob BarrX. Former Republican Congressman from Georgia.
James Burns.[30] Former chairman of the Nevada Libertarian Party.
Mike Gravel. Former Democratic U.S. Senator from Alaska.
Daniel Imperato. Entrepreneur from Florida.
Mike Jingozian of Oregon.[31][32] Software company founder.
Steve Kubby. Author, political activist, and cannabis consultant from California.
Robert Milnes,X political activist, from New Jersey. [33]
George Phillies. Physics professor, writer, and libertarian activist from Massachusetts.
Wayne Allyn Root. Author, CEO, TV celebrity, and producer from Nevada.
Mary Ruwart of Texas. Research scientist, author, and political activist.
Christine Smith of Colorado.[34][35] Writer and humanitarian activist.
Note: Ron Paul is included in this list, although he is at the moment still "running" for the Republican nomination.
Initial odds are pretty flat, since I know very little about most of these people.

The Associated Press reports: "Barr beat research scientist Mary Ruwart, who was the party's presidential nominee in 1983 and vice presidential candidate in 1992. Barr left the GOP in 2006 over what he called bloated spending and civil liberties intrusions by the Bush administration."
Bob Barr, a former congressman from Georgia, gained fame by helping press the impeachment of President Bill Clinton for lying under oath to conceal an affair.
