Much speculation this year that multiple United States based major airlines will merge or go out of business, mergers speculated to happen prior to US Pres election...From the following grouping, how many of airline HQ locations will be north of 40 degrees North Latitude on 11/3/08. For settlement purposes, if a deal has been ratified and agreed to by all concerned parties prior to 11/3/08, the acquiring carrier''s HQ location will be the one used...Alaska Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Northwest Airlines, United Airlines, American Airlines, Frontier Airlines and US Airways....Suspend date is 7 days prior to the General Election.

I've certainly learned a lot about latitude in relation to the US...and I'm quickly learning about airline hubs...Many Thanks for stimulating some learning for the day!
So, I did my research, and found out how many HQs are currently north of 40.

Secondly, you must factor in how many of these airlines will be in existence as of 11/3/2008 (not out of business, not bought out by a bigger fish).
