Will disgraced NBA referee Tim Donaghy be sentenced to prison or just get probation

Settled as Prison Term

The veteran referee pleaded guilty last year to felony charges for taking cash payoffs from gamblers and betting on games he officiated. Donaghy's attorney made the assertions in a letter filed in U.S. District Court in Brooklyn on Monday, in which he argued that his client should be sentenced to probation because he fully cooperated with prosecutors and has been undergoing treatment for his gambling addiction. Joel Litvin, the NBA president for league and basketball operations, in a statement. "The letter is the desperate act of a convicted felon who is hoping to avoid prison time." By law, he faces up to 25 years in prison, though the term could be much lower under sentencing guidelines.

I'm unsure as to what a suspended prison sentence is.
I tried looking it up at: http://www.wikicrimeline.co.uk/index.php?title=Suspended_sentences
but the definition seems as though it is written in "Greek" to me. Does it mean no actual prison time but a bunch of community service?

I think it means he does not recieve prison sentence on the condition that he doesn't into trouble. If he gets in trouble then the prison sentence kicks in.
