If I understand this question correctly, it needs to be reworded. The presidential race is decided by the electoral vote, not the popular vote. I recommend, 'What will be the popular vote margin the the 2008 US Presidential election?'

'in the,' not 'the the.'

see next question... we are dealing with both issues, and yes, the delegate count is the one that ultimately matters... but in some way, the popular vote is supposed to matter... we can get rid of the "decided" part, but it doesn't change the question....

I agree with you, this question if it was like the 2000 results would not be able to be settled. In that election the Republicans won (thank you Supreme Court) and yet democrats had higher percentage of vote. I am going to suspend market until clarification can be made on this market. There needs to be additional options that read republicans win but lose popular vote, and democrat wins but lose popular vote.

i.e.: gore won the popular vote, several non-presidents have...they won the popular vote, but lost in the delegate count...
posted 25 weeks ago
take the two questions together before voiding... they are linked.... we all say " Gore won the popular vote"....
posted 25 weeks ago
fine, change the wording...geez, if i could only type faster and word questions perfectly... oh, well... i agree, as i say in the second question, the delegate count is the one that matters.... please edit and unsuspend.... i'm ready to bet all my money on one or two of the answers....

I sent word to Ryan, I am sure he will email you for clarification. My thought is that on questions in which clarification is needed it is best to suspend so others don't wager on one wording and then the words get changed and are upset they wagered on original meaning. So that is why I was quick to suspend. I love the question. I was the person who wagered the other 800 on it before realizing there wasn't an option covering the 2000 results.
I posted information on your other question including a link so people can find information to make wiser choices.
If anyone has link to the map that Karl Rove showed on Fox the other night I would like to see it.

hey, good move, i agree, i should have been more careful... i was thinking about both questions... i agree 100% with you... i am just impatient, and couldn't wait until the nominees are decided... I think a lot of Hubdubbers want to invest in this question... no worries, mate... adjust it as y'all see fit, void it and repost if necessary.... i'm having a blast!

was that the map that showed mccain winning by 50 delegates? i saw it somewhere, but i think it was on fox, as well....

Yeah there was two maps he had one with Clinton and McCain and Obama and McCain. I was curious how it would look. Is there a calculator out there somewhere for electoral map like there is for the delegates in democratic race?

Proposed wording: "What will the popular vote difference be in the 2008 presidential election? (by winner)"
posted 25 weeks ago
  13 destry[Admin]
Yeah I think that will be good and we need to understand that the option less than 1% also includes losing the popular vote. I think that is where the confusion could kick in.
posted 25 weeks ago
well, there is the option for either to win by less than 1%...on both sides...

i kind of like the super hero thing, someone within 3 time zones with which to converse! cheers to that idea, hubdub admins, you've made a wise and appreciated decision in choosing to have superhero americans and canadiens on your side...(we are called "acdiens down here, but you know us bastards as Irish or French ex-pats... yet you allow us to participate!) Thanks!

Notice Bush lost the popular vote in 2000, and the 1960 race was very close, the election that pundits are comparing this one to.....

what happens if Obama wins by 4.5%? Is that 1-4% or 5-9%? Similarly for other options...
