Which movie genre produced the greatest box office receipts during 2008?
The market would be hard to settle based on individual investigation. I think Jenni's suggestion of using this link: http://www.the-numbers.com/market/Genres2008.php would make settlement much easier and make the question easier to digest.
Background:
I picked these 188 movies because they all had wide or general releases during 2008.
The initial odds are related to the number of instances that the primary (first listed) genre occured for each movie type, then I used the nine most common categories for option with the 10th being any other genre.
In the event of a tie, the additional 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th genres for each movie can be used to break the tie.
