But doesn't that smack of the past. What about the 'change we can believe in' mantra?
Obama lovers will go wherever Obama leads them.
It's really a shame. Being a HRC supporter, I'm being told to open my eyes. Give Obama a chance.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Flip-flop to get where you need to go, forget those who really helped you get there.
Except Obama speaks more eloquently.
You're right, Biden would undercut Obama's message of "change" greatly, but I still think it's a good move. He's undeniably a foreign policy expert, clearly Obama's weakest point, and would likely excoriate any Republican VP in the debate. I watched 90% of the Dems 5827 debates and thought he was the best of them all, with his limited time, on that platform. Would fill the traditional VP role of "attack dog" that Edwards failed so miserably at last time.
His Scranton background would help shore up Obama's problems with that demographic, and probably ensure the Dems win that critical state. Finally, he'd create much more excitement among the base than Bayh or Kaine could ever hope for. And I live in Virginia, the thinking here is that Kaine would do little to deliver the state. If VA were the only objective, Mark Warner would be the VP choice.
Biden's a pro and knows his shit. Smartest choice by a mile in my opinion.
I agree on the foreign policy "plus" ... but was concerned about his 'motor-mouth' ;-)
His age and long-service experience would also be a plus.
So... I'm back "in-on-Biden".
If that is the case, then we have to look beyond the beltway.
That leaves Governors, an assortment of former military types, maybe a mayor.
But from what I've been hearing, his choice is going to 'blow folks away'. Certainly that wouldn't include Joe.
Maybe Valerie Plume? ;)
Ooohh.... I can't wait! Who in the world could the Celebrity Lord Messiah, Barack Obama choose that would 'blow folks away'?!?!
What would blow me away is if he chose someone I wanted to vote for: Fred Thompson, Alan Keyes, J.D. Hayworth, etc. If he chose someone more conservative than John McCain I'd consider voting for him.
Putting myself in Obama's shoes though... who would he think would blow people away... I'm guessing Algore, Hillary, Paris Hilton... actually, I have no clue!
If he chooses someone that's at least 6% Arabic, there's a huge payday here:

This is very interesting stuff.
go Joe
