New York Times: will names "Obama" or "McCain" appear in front page headlines, Sun. 6/15?

Settled as McCain only

A featured story regarding McCain's POW experience in Vietnam was the McCain reference. No Obama reference found. I'd recommend the McCain article though very insightful.

Background:

New York Times, Sunday 6/15 "national" print edition - whose names will appear in HEADLINES on page one? Must be in a regular headline; name showing up in a subhead or in the body of a story or in the caption of a photo does NOT count. Front page images of print edition can generally be viewed online at www.nytimes.com.

Initial odds are based on the assumption that Obama is currently more "in the news", McCain a bit less so, and allowing for the possibility that both names may appear in headlines. Note that "Obama" and "McCain" must reference the candidates only, not their wives or any other persons with same last name.

Settlement details: As detailed in the background above, appearing in the New York Times national print edition. Suspension date is set a bit early because newspapers are generally printed in advance of issue date. Note that in order to settle as "Both Obama and McCain", both names may appear either in separate front page headlines or within the same headline.

BIG loss today for Hubdubber's ...

As far as I can tell, this is "McCain Only".

Thanks much for the compliments! The positions have been moving more than I thought, and it really is hard to guess how it will turn out. I like the chaos though ... maybe I'll ask my shrink why that is.
