Will the existence of Bigfoot be confirmed by science in 2008?

Settled as No

No such news by suspend date.

Background:

Background: Call it what you will: Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Nape -- stories have been told for decades, if not centuries about a large, bipedal ape-like creature stalking the forests of North America. Is it possible that these creatures are real? And, if so, will science confirm the existence of them in 2008?

Settlement details:Question will settle as Yes if a legitimate scientific journal describes a bipedal ape population living in North America, and designate it with a scientific genus and species. As reported by a major mainstream news source.

It's already been proven. Haven't you seen the 'Messing With Sasquatch' commercial?

A couple of guys from Georgia claim they have a Bigfoot body in a freezer. There will be a press conference Friday in Pao Alto. Here's a link to a thread about it by Loren Coleman, who is cautiously optimistic, on his Cryptomundo blog:

Well, if it's not Bigfoot, maybe it's a Yeti?

Look everyone knows there is no such thing as Bigfoot. Its a monster that is often grouped together with santa claus and the easter bunny. Luckily enough theres sane people in the world yet because no is tallying in at 90 percent.

Apparently, Bushnell (the binocular people) are offering a one million dollar prize for a verified photo of bigfoot. I wasn't aware of this prize when I posted the question, but I wish I'd known ... it'd have given me a different method of settlement.

Do they still have to exist or would finding mummified ones of skeletons count? Like with Homo floresiensis, who were discovered when they were already probably extinct?

I think finding evidence of former existence is fine to settle the question
