Action history:
Brian Williams slides in as host for 'Meet the Press'
MediaLife reports today:
"The big Sunday morning puzzle is who will host "Meet the Press" following the death of Tim Russert, and a decision on that could be some time off. Speculation is that longtime NBC evening news anchor Tom Brokaw will step in on an interim basis. But this Sunday current evening news anchor Brian Williams will take over the hosting duties. Among his guests will be Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Joe Biden, D-Del. Both were to appear last week but were pushed to this week with Russert's death that prior Friday. Williams is now back from reporting in Afghanistan. NBC faces little risk that "Meet the Press" will fall from the No. 1 slot on Sunday mornings, but there is a real worry that the show's ratings will slide with Russert's death."
NBC confirms Brian Williams as the "moderator".
It looks like "No Interim Host announced by June 21" would be the winning prediction.
Should Brian Williams be named the "permanent interim host" I guess we could revisit this.
You may wanna wait until the end of the day, or tomorrow morning to settle this ... just to see if any "more precise" announcements are made.

The Settlement Details are specific:
"It will settle when an interim host is announced, or at 6:00PM EDT on June 21, 2008, whichever comes first. "
I think we ought wait until 6:00PM EDT on June 21, 2008, to see if an "official interim host" has been named by then.
Latest news from NBC:
"Dear Viewers,
"Friday morning of last week, Tim Russert was hard at work preparing for Sunday's upcoming interview with Senators Lindsey Graham and Joe Biden. He was excited and so looking forward to having both these Senators together, on the "Meet the Press" set, debating the hot issues of the presidential race.
"As you know, tragically that show never happened.
"This Sunday, both Senators Graham and Biden have graciously agreed to appear here to have that Decision 2008 debate. It will be the debate that Tim was so looking forward to and it is the debate that I think he would want us to proceed with. We are fortunate that NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams will be here to moderate.
"We will also have a political roundtable with Andrea Mitchell of NBC News and John Harwood of CNBC and the New York Times.
"And to close the show, in memory of Tim, we will have a special look back at this week's services and tributes to our leader and friend.
"With thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers,
"Betsy Fischer
Executive Producer
NBC News, "Meet the Press" "

"Tom Brokaw will replace Tim Russert as moderator of NBC’s “Meet the Press” through the November presidential election, the network announced today.
"NBC News President Steve Capus said: "A lot has been said in recent days about what 'Meet the Press' means to NBC News and to the nation. To have someone of Tom's stature step up and dedicate himself to ensuring its ongoing success is not only a testament to his loyalty to Tim, but his enduring commitment to NBC News and our viewers."
"NBC’s plans for a successor to Russert, who died two weeks ago after collapsing at the network’s Washington bureau, have been the subject of hot speculation. The interim plan gives network executives time to figure out how to preserve the show’s prestige and profitability for the long run."
