Will McCain select a Democrat as his running mate?

Technically Lieberman is an Independent so if McCain picks him this question should be settled as NO?

If you read the background information it clearly states that if person was ever elected to public office as a Democrat then that would qualify for a YES. So Lieberman is a YES settlement.

Destry is correct. If Lieberman was selected the market would settle as a yes because he was elected as a Dem.

This would actually be very typical of John McCain. He is always talking about "bi-partisian" stuff.

I was just reading his letter to Barack, where they evidently had been talking about bi-partisian support for a bill:
