Will anyone survive the Philippine ferry disaster after being trapped inside?
After so much time since the accident, most reports are now indicating that the operation is now a complete recovery operation and not a rescue one.
Background:>

This question suspends in one week and will settle when a determination of survivors can be made. The market relates to survivors who were within the capsized ferry, not survivors who got out prior to the capsize.
Settlement details:
As reported by a major mainstream news source.
All numbers refer to people who survive after being trapped inside the capsized ferry.

The initial question references a story which states that there had been 33 survivors.
Since then, I've seen several different reports...
"Only 38 ferry survivors have been found"
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080623/ap_on_re_as/philippines_typhoon
"Rescuers have found at least 34 survivors"
http://cnnwire.blogs.cnn.com/2008/06/23/11-dead-34-survivors-recovered-from-ferry-accident/
"At least 20 new survivors and 15 bodies were found close to Masbate island"
http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSMAN9076220080623
Hmmmmmm....
The current number is zero.
Just thought it seemed confusing with different news sources reporting different numbers and at least one source reporting higher numbers (with 20 of those being "new survivors" and taking the total to around 50)...the question didn't ask how many would escape on their own, be rescued by divers rescue teams or whatever...just how many survivors there will be.
Hopefully new reports will come out soon with more clear information (and hopefully good news).
When I made this question I was thinking that if anybody is rescued or has spent anytime inside the capsized ferry, their stories would be significant and any news articles would specifically speak of the fact that they had been inside the capsized ferry.
By PAUL ALEXANDER – 3 hours ago
MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Two teams of rescuers prepared Monday to dive into typhoon-roiled waters off the Philippines to find a way inside a capsized ferry in a desperate effort to locate some 800 people believed to be aboard.
Story contains updated counts on the number of passengers aboard, number of survivors counted so far, announced death benefit.

From your link...
Only 38 ferry survivors have been found, including 28 who drifted at sea for more than 24 hours, first in a life raft, then in life jackets, before they were found Sunday about 80 miles to the north in eastern Quezon province.
The coast guard said it was checking a survivor's report that at least one group of people — some dead, some alive — had been spotted bobbing in the sea.
Six bodies, including those of a man and woman who had bound themselves together, have washed ashore, along with children's slippers and life jackets.
Maybe I misunderstood, but the initial story reported only reported that there were rescues searches going on and that "A U.S. Navy ship equipped with helicopters will soon join the search and rescue effort." The rescue divers came in to the picture later. I guess I interpreted this as how many survivors will there be, beyond those initially reported (33)?" (regardless of whether or not they were found by rescuers, survived by floating at sea, etc).
Perhaps what is not clear is whether those who "survived" by floating at sea had initially been trapped or what?
There were already reported survivors when I made this question.
At this stage in the game I suspect it can only apply to people who may become rescued.
I've clarified the market to make Mork's intentions with this market clear.
"The market relates to survivors who were within the capsized ferry, not survivors who got out prior to the capsize."
I think this should make settlement easier, although it should be known that some of the already reported survivors may have actually gotten out of the capsized ferry via the hole in the hull.

I believe Mork's intention has been the same all along, it was just that the market required some clarification. I have though voided your bet.

Comment #9 above - "although it should be known that some of the already reported survivors may have actually gotten out of the capsized ferry via the hole in the hull." So, are those individuals counted (they did survive after being trapped inside) and how is it determined how many of the already reported survivors meet that criteria?
Sorry Mork! Didn't mean to complicate your question. However, I wagered large amounts of H$ on this and just want to see a fair and reasonable settlement.
The only way we can see if survivors got out of the capsized ferry is by news reports. So far I haven't seen any reports indicating this, and the rescue operations are sadly turning into a recovery operation. Anyway though, anyone's open to ask for their predictions to be voided if they feel the clarifications have changed the way they interpreted the market.

If not, c'est la vie.
The settlement details include only this one additional sentence: "All numbers refer to people who survive after being trapped inside the capsized ferry. "
From the news reports I have seen the number is zero.
I'm not sure how this got misunderstood.
