I think recovery will be taken as against last year. We'll do this as it is a more comparable measure over last month. So if spending equals or surpasses last year, we can settle yes otherwise no. I hope this resolves the problem with the market.

Yes, it certainly dropped like a stone, but it seems to be on the way back up... sadly for the drivers amongst us. I think it was a reaction to the rate cut and then realising it wouldn't make major differences instantly so back up it goes.

The initial odds appear to be off. They gave oil a ~45% chance of being closer to $110. Looking at NYMEX (http://www.nymex.com/lsco_fut_cso.aspx) oil has only gone below $115 twice in the past week so giving it a 45% chance of ending the week closer to $110 seems far too high.

After careful consideration, this market has been voided. Due to the two negative quarters required, for the US to be "in" recession by that date is not possible. However reading the comments and looking at the market many users have clearly read this question differently and many opinions exist as to the final outcome. For example if the US was in the negative growth which led to that recession by summer would it count? I felt under the circumstances the only choice was to void.

The money in question is a rebate the airport was due to pay Flybe, but if Flybe didn't get enough passengers they would lose the £280,000. The question is whether the airport will try and withhold the cash, due to the methods Flybe utilised.

They certainly have a chance, due to the proportional representation part of the system. It really depends if the battle between Livingstone, Johnson and Paddick heats up. If it does then those who aren't really BNP supporters but would vote as protest are less likely to.

Somehow I doubt it will so I'd think one seat is more than possible.

This question will be settled according to the standard U.S. measure of oil price (WTI). This is reported by NYMEX http://www.nymex.com/lsco_fut_cso.aspx, and is also shown under "WTI Crude Future" on Bloomberg http://www.bloomberg.com/markets/commodities/cfutures.html. Obviously when using the NYMEX site it is the earliest contract still open that is counted, currently April 2008, but this progresses with time.

Market edit: I have added commas between the tags so they generate news.

I have edited this market by changing it to NASDAQ, I have done this as this is clearly a simple mistake and do not wish to void a question garnering so much interest. If the stock does close at $30.00 exactly, I will settle as over $30.00.
