My Predictions

About me

I don't look, act or talk like a biker, but one of my passions in life is Motorcycle Touring.

I have ridden a motorcycle to 43 different states, completed (3) official Saddle Sore 1000's
(where the object is to ride over 1000 miles in less than 24 hours)
and completed a "USA 4 Corners Tour".

To me, riding is more about seeing the world rather than having the world see me. I have taken lots of photos along the way and then posted them on my website, in my continuing effort to share the sights I have seen.

If you ever do have the time try to check it out! My first time riding quads was out on the Oregon sand dunes! Extremely fun, however it can get a little expensive.

Oh WOW!!! That's such a neat photo, and what a great bike. Every bike rider should have a neat photo of themselves like this one. I copied and saved it. Hopefully you will leave it up for awhile!

Great question on the text messages!

You're right -- writing a solid question *IS* more difficult than it 'looks' !
Hopefully there will be some changes to the process soon that will make it easier :-)

Hi -- I saw your post about pets and photography... I have experience with the later, but a friend/partner of mine has a site you might really enjoy: DogOfTheDay.com (which is part of PetOfTheDay.com). It's a wonderful, non-commercial site, with an amazing feeling of community to it.

Best wishes,

R

I am most impressed! I was sure that you would tell me that they were ROLLING PAST flags on poles...Thank you for bringing this story to my attention; I was unaware of it.

Years ago I had a Honda when I lived in the Middle East (and loved it). Today I admire bikes. I have an unusual one that I want to sell: it is an art piece: 40 inches long, about two feet tall, highly detailed, and made entirely of galvinized fence wire. It was made for me in South Africa and took approximately three months to complete. I don't have a website, so I don't have a place to post photos...

Not a dumb question at all - it looks so oversized that it is hard to imagine those flags attached to a motorcycle.
I took those pictures on 5-17-2008.

Actually, the flags are mounted on the 2 bikes. (I was almost as surprised as you were. LOL)
These pictures are of the "Central Route" riders. The bikes with the huge flags were the first 2 bikes to follow a police escort as they led about 200 motorcycles through town. They "collect" additional bikes as they ride eastward and the procession continues to grow until they reach their final destination at "The Wall" which is the Viet Nam War memorial. At that point 3 different routes and groups of riders converge and then they will have a quick photo opp with the President while making a statement about our armed forces.

These bikes travel from Los Angeles, CA to Washington DC each year to raise awareness of our POW & MIA armed forces.

Wow! What a Great Collection of photos on your website!

It's probably an illusion, but are those two GIANT FLAGS actually mounted on the back of bikes? I guess the bikes were probably rolling past two large flag poles? Hard to tell...Sounds like a dumb question, I know...

Thanks! It's probably a little easier to have a good %age when you have 10,000 than when you're in the 100,000s. :)
