Cognos my friend, this was a bold comment posting indeed. I have to admit that you are voluntarily putting a target on your back with this one, but I have to give you props for making some very valid observations. It's true that pretty much every generation feels that they are in the "end times" and almost every society or generation can find things to point to that seem to align themselves with the things that the Book of Revelations warns us to be 'on guard' about. In fact it's occured to me that it would be not inconsistent for a creative ging (God) to have deliberatley composed the Book of Revelations is a somewhat ambiguous fashion to keep each generation 'on their toes' as it were. What I mean is that if the end times signs were so blatantly obvious as to be irrefutable, you know something like the moon crumbling, or something like that, then people could defer any righteousness or self reflection with an air of, oh well, nothing is emminent, so why bother, why not just be self indulgent and live for the moment.

Anyway, back to your observations, I also have found it to be creepy the way that Obama's powerful oratory seems to hypnotize his audiences, it boggles my mind every time I read the leteral text of one of his speechs and he seems to be laying the groundwork for things like a global oversight of goverment and markets and the dissolution of autonomy of our country and our basic civil liberties. The whole thing seems upside down, but because he is bi-racial, he is largely excused from much critical examination. For my money it seems to be a kind of reverse discrimination, Dan Quale was a bit squarish but his tar and feathering over the spelling of potatoe was very trivial when contrasted with the many, many gaffes and troublesome things that I hear coming from Senator Obama's mind.

Yeah I noticed you were way down the weekly %age gain in my friends' leaderboard. I lost, and gained, H$ on the market today. I usually don't invest in those markets, since I seem to always lose H$ on them. It's funny though, I almost never lose any USD in the stock market, though I'll admit I'm more of a buy-and-hold investor and less of a trader (I'm big on dividends too).
