aawwww dieseldog..its so nice to know u care...:)..im still here...look at the boards daily..wager a little here and there..now that everything is so organized it isnt the same...i miss the major problems and classic threads of horror and dismay at settlemets, voids etc..hahaha
i dont think the odds r really as reflective as other questions..the odds on this question change very dramatically with even a wager of a couple of hundred dollars..they have done that since the question was started and if somebody doesnt know that and puts even 500 bux on somebody there is a large percentage shift
normally i would say yes but if they cant find 2 guys wearing thongs so fast i actually have to go with the criminals getting way for a while..that is a terrible video though..probably 2 kids playing around
if the only way u think he can lose is if others try to box him in ur betting the wrong way..:)..if he was a closer then id b more worried if i was his connections but he has plenty of speed..also pp 1 has won plenty of belmonts..the other speed in this race is cheap speed which is y everybody except the japanese horse is 12-1 or more..they r looking for some prize money..these speed horses if they do go out will be done early..none r getting a mile and a half..i doubt hell b 2 far back early but he is versatile enough to get out quick and b in a good spot..just because he starts out on the rail doesnt mean hell stay there..all he has to do is move him one path over..no more boxed in..i mean whats harder..starting from 20 post going 5 wide or rail against 9 horses..he has a mile and a half to get in a good spot..of course he could lose and if something doesnt happen after 30 years it probably wont after 31..but it has to sometime
letmewin-thats like saying if the patriots are playing at home against the jets..ur saying that game should be 50-50..the early birds would unload on the pats..the pats would have to start out at like 85 or 90 probably to make it fair if there was no point spread used..i was making most of the sports questions on the site when it first started about 6 a day between ncaa, nba, and nhl and i would look at record and who was at home and make odds that way..most were in 50-65 percent starting range because i tried to pick close games but once in a while id stick in a minny at dallas in nba but the odds would be about 80-20 for dallas..like vegas u try to get people to bet both sides from the start
well no matter whcih way u feel ur getting a nice price..although the horse will b 1-5 and ur getting even money here so that is the real value but alot of things can happen in a horse race..if he gets a clean trip though i dont think anybody is beating him but that has been said about many who have tried b4 him..owl maybe u aint getting the stud fees and love u feel u deserve because owl doesnt really resonate with the ladies..:)

diesel ur right about these markets and the comparison to other markets..the funny thing is there was always such an uproar about those other types of markets closing late but never realy the stock markets for some reason..truth be told i always thought the people who are able to stay on here following the stox had an advantage because u were able to work it throughout the day but b4 orlin i really hadnt seen too many others really move up so rapidly but maybe they r just not on the big board yet and i think it had more to do with him playing al those diiferent markets..but if this is really a prediction market y does somebody have the chance to make even a dollar on finishing up or down when its up 200 points with an opportuity to bet with 1 minute left?
well news that wouldnt be fair to the people who bet based on his last comment..they may have felt that she will get some from one of the states..or people cashed out and bet the other way or whatever..that is the problem now..i dont think you can just say forget what i said and put the market back to the way it was..my bad..people continue to try to protect their interests which i understand but i think it is sometimes too ez to influence the admins to change something that wasnt broke due to someone feeling they r going to lose their bet
well i didnt have money on this market originally as i have learned by now how these will often end up.just as it is now but i did cash out at a small profit after ryans last post because i think the void has to be the next step..i feel this site has the potential to be better but it cant grow when the same problems continue to occur..changing the entire meaning of a market after people have wagered with one way of thinking just cant happen whether the admin think its right or not..and this isnt even close to being the first time..peoples money have been tied up here and now they get a void wont make them feel better because they could have made money with their tied up money..i and others have tried to point this out in the past..my personal view is if it says "and" how can it turn into only needing one..i admit i dont know much about political delegate stuff but if im betting on this i have to assume i need both or am i missing something?
not to speak for him but i think he meant belmont..when they put him out to stud their price for mating with him goes up for the company doing it..as he wins more big races ..his connections already sold his breeeding rights i think so i guess the company doing it would benefit most and i beleive they want to run him in the breeders cup also if hes ok...the big bettors arent betting him to win at 1-5 or 1-2..they unload a fortune on him to show which is y when a big favorite is off the board u see huge show prices
yeah but it would be more like changing from 1-5 to maybe 1-2..if it was a rinky dink track in the middle of nowhere maybe but not on this stage i dont think..but thats just my opinion
i doubt that destry..the industry has enough scandals and problems with fixing races, drugs etc...the last thing they need is for the biggest and most public day to even have a hint of problems..besides its not like hes going to pay 20bux to win even if he runs and he may be hurt..the trainer made his money on the derby..they sold his breeding rites for like 30 mil i think so everybodys pretty set i think
it would be fun..the only way we could have questions on it is to draft a certain number of players and they all need to play every week because otherwise it could be manipulated (ie benching good players)but the bench could be used only in case of player not playing and it would be automatic sub (ie-draft 2 qb and second would automatically be used if the #1 doesnt play)..very simple rules so everybody can follow..i think cbs charges but i think espn is free (they had so many issues when they tried to charge they had no choice but to give it for free to generate fantasy addict traffic)..we would need to figure out draft and stuff but otherwise it should work..an interesting idea
great..maybe something with wind chill, an ebay auction total of..lets say ufo pictures but u have to make sure they r real because if the seller has any doubt then its not valid and a spitzer sprinkle with a dash of how many hubdub questions will be settled both yes and no..i really love those..:)..keep up the good work
yeah..both were at 94 percent at times between yesterday and today..i had cook at 6 percent but started "hubdubbing" back and forth on both as odds changed..this was a wild market the last 2 days

i am really surprised this is still going on..as much as i want to wager on all types of questions it just doesnt make sense to do because these things have been happening since day 1..i havent wagered on anyhting except sports in a while because it just seems pointless with voids rewrites interpertations etc..i have to believe if a questions entire meaning is changed void it, release peoples money and let it be rewritten..i have written this from day 1..and having been there i know how frustraing it is..i monitor the comments and continue to be shocked the same problems seem to be happening..its funny because when the wild westers were active there would have been major threads on the getsatisfaction area about this but that seems to be dying down..i dont know if it means less problems or less participation.im hoping they get the kinks ironed out..it is still beta i guess

ur right epicur but this has been a problem from day 1..u have to become a total expert on some of these b4 wagering and even then somebody who didnt put in the time or who now regrets their wager can find a loophole to get their money back..as i wrote b4 i stopped bothering with these a long time ago or i wager very little..people will stop creating and wagering on anything that requires anything more than a definite yes or no like sports
this really shouldnt be voided..it was written in a way that shows someone with some experience of how hubdub works in regards to having to be very specific in the details in order to avoid problems and voids and the comments were helpful as well..i dont have much on this but i think voiding it would be a mistake and further diminish peoples desires to put out well thought out and interesting questions
haha..this has generated so much discussion..well i dont know anybody else who is on this site and even if i did i wouldnt tell them anything..this is a game after all...ive been here from day 1 and for me to do something i consider cheating would be quite contrary to what i state on the site..if this was a question on somebody else i would enjoy betting on it so as i said b4 i wouldnt want to take it away from anybody else who wants to by betting on it myself..but its up to admin to deal with and it does close next week so everybody will have a decent idea where i am i guess
well these questions have been around since day 1 and i guess some get voided but some dont..to tell u the truth and ive stated this b4 i really dont wager on hubdub questions much and i think its bad luck to wager on questions concerning myself so i stay away from them even though i know where i stand so take that as u wish...it really isnt worth it to me to ruin this for everybody else to make a few bux..by the way..kudos to one of the best survivor episodes ever!!!

from the beginning this question has had the biggest difference in percentage on even the smallest bet (assuming no bug) ive seen on pretty much any question from day 1..i didnt bet very much per bet because of it and if someone bet a couple thou not knowing this it would kill the odds in a crazy way
it wont pass this year for one major reason.there was a large amount of federal funding that ny was going to get if this passed but it had to pass by last week which was why it was rushed through to albany..they didnt even get it to the floor to be voted on because silver i think his name is never let it..they wanted bloomberg to make changes..he said he wouldnt..and its over as far as i think but it defintely wont go thorugh in its current form if thats how u want to settle it

great questions machine..i didn't know u had a sports bug..ha..overall i think everybody is doing a great job with lots of interesting questions and it is amazing to see how far the site has come in terms of the quantity and quality of sports questions from day 1...donals job was way too easy..BRAVO!!
since there is alot of questions about sports i will tell everybody how i do the sports questions...when the site first started there were questions everyday by pretty much one guy who was a buffalo sabres fan and those were the only daily questions..after about 2 weeks i decided to start more sports questions since i like sports so i started doing about 2-3 a day in nhl-nba-ncaa..i pretty much stuck to similar teams like detroit vs spurs becuase it is hard to have a major upset and bad games wont get much action..i would pretty much look at the standings, home-away record, and give a 5 percent extra to the home team..so most games had 50-50 or 55-45..by the time i got to wager the market was reset because even a small wager will move it..it didnt make sense to mess with the system because all the time id be praying it didnt get voided i could be wagering..anyway while everybody had tons of money tied up in an ebay satellite auction (ah good times..ha) i had my money unlocked and was wagering although i did have some in that also it wasnt alot
the ironic thing is they were going to take the funds and lower the value of people who play fairly but are fighting so hard to allow a known cheat to keep the funds he didn't earn and stay on the leader board because they want to be fair to him again
tnx lucid..to me i enjoy playing the game but i have slowed down a lot because of stuff like this..y they r trying so hard to protect his account i have no idea..the first time he did it there were alot of bad feelings created..now the same person is doing it and they r worried about being fair to him?..i want the people who deserve to move up their spot like destry, machine, u, and the others who got there the right way..and if i stop playing i really want nothing more than for him to be #1..y not complete the process
kru they did react..they said we warned him..again..he wont be penalized but will be next time which is what i think they said last time..again..and even if u only take away the icl stuff then what does that do?..he knows he can keep trying and if he gets caught they will only take his winnings away from that..meanwhile he gets to use that money to make money in other areas..that is y i am saying to give him a stiff penalty as a second time offender and show that this won't be tolerated especially a second time and he definitely should not be where he is on the board..if he is not getting his glory legitimately then y is he allowed to keep it..this worse than the spitzergate ordeal..this is holding up ur end of the deal as people who run a legitimate game to the best of their ability..knowingly letting cheaters continue to play the game defeats the whole purpose

ur starting out a new site..u set a precedent..the precedent is it is ok to cheat and continue to get caught..u will just be warned and can move on..not only do u get to keep ur winnings but ur spot on the leaderboard which u only got to by cheating..he was given a second chance and abused it..if nobody else has a problem with someone taking a spot from someone who put the time in then thats ok with me but y should i waste my time..more people will pop up to do this and i dont see the problem with suspending him when he has already been caught b4..others then will not do it..whatever it is not my problem but i just dont get sacrificing ur credibility for one person
ok so he gamed the first time and was fined and warned..now he does it again and is allowed to keep all his winnings..be put on watch again and then he'll be fined?..ridiculous in my view..in my opinion the credibility of this site is gone..he should be fined at least half his money and his name and account should be taken down..y should he be allowed to have his name on the leaderboard?..ur rewarding him..so what if he is a contributor?..he probably does it to distract everyone..if he wasnt a contributor then what would happen?.he wasnt a reformed charachter after the first time.y will he be now?..don't appreciate gaming?..yeah because if i could make hubub bux just by making questions about stuff that only i bet on at great odds i would do it..it would save me alot of time..i made sports questions with fair odds for everybody..what was the point?..i am done and not wasting my time anymore..so its ok to make 10 legit questions and 10 gaming ones?.thats what ur saying..ok its ur site but i definitely don't need to participate and i think ur hurting this site for the sake of one person

thank u for ur advice..i can say whatever i think and what i think is that the admin of this site is alienating a lot of people for one person who has been proven once again to be cheating blatantly..y should that be rewarded by being on the leaderboard and having money to have fun with..he didnt earn it he cheated for it..i don't care about me but if u think its fair to other people who are trying to get there the right way then ur wrong..i was willing to have my money adjusted for the good of the site continuing which is more important then any one account but keeping a cheating persons account will lose me and others..i can be whatver i want thank u and if i was in charge of the site i would get rid of him to keep the integrity of the site intact especially because he did it again

well at this point i think the credibility of hubdub had taken a hit from roadies..they let it go for a long time even after they knew what was going on claiming they didnt want to close new types of questions even though basically only on person was betting it..now this..if they allow him to stay on then they will put so many more people off they will b relying on new people more than ever..his account and him should be deleted and immediate action should be taken if anybody else is discovered doing it..i dont get it..y not put in time making predictions instead of making questions with crazy odds..then everyone who is legitimately behind him should move up to where they should b..what gets me is the greediness..u got away with it once for some reason..but to do it again with everybody watching is blatant..lets see what admin does..i would be shocked if they let his account stay in any way but as us long timers know never say never..:)
destry i will take u up on ur offer of 10k hubdubbucks for my hubdub advice..ha..i actually will put some stuff on there when i get a chance..i think we all have to understand that hubdub needs to find a way to continue to get more people and trying a weekly leaderboard may be a trial and they will adjust from there..if i was new and i saw people with 200k or whatever id be like thats a long haul..at least this way i can compete in a different way if im new and i would personally be more interested..but for those of us here from the beginning we can compete how we want..weekly or just focus on the overall top..i personally don't care about being on top for a quarter or week..i enjoy wagering on longer term questions as well as short term so thats what i will still focus on..if hubdub doesnt grow there wont be a hubdub which was y i understood their money adjustment thing to an extent..i agree with u that the questions seem to be less but we seem to have core people creating questions in different areas..the funny thing is sports used to be much ignored and now it seems to be the most popular for new questions..i think because it is win or lose for the most part and little ambiguity or we just got more fans but we don't want it to just be a sports site

i think the edit totally changes the question..if he is giving testimony so he is not charged or indicted how can that be settled as yes?..if these changes are implemented then i feel the question should be voided or people should be given the option of voiding..also he may be charged with his money depositing cover up so the entire question is different

ha..i know..tnx, i try..on some especially when i get in at a low number because i dont feel the way 80 percent of others do..i like sports as most can tell so it keeps me entertained without losing my own money..im happy alot of others are doing sports questions now..it was taking me quite a while to make enough questions to keep myself entertained daily plus make sure i had 12 hour window open for me..i actually like questions in other categories better because i learn alot from them..i try to make questions i would like to wager on and try to make fair odds..and i can only imagine the frustration of so many others with the problems of all the regular questions..most sports are yes or no so donal has got it pretty easy..but to keep the market moving they really do need to release peoples money sooner if there is a problem

To me he resigned today..question-when will spitzer resign as reported bt news..answer-he resigned today..that should have been the answer as yes..if people are saying it doesnt say when will he announce it then it also doesnt say when the offical date is given as an option either..it cant be one way and not the other..everyone is reporting he resigned today..i dont get it...people are putting their time into answering stuff for fake money..do u think they will put more time in analyzing questions for every possible scenario..keep it simple..if it was going to be discussed this way the wagering should have been suspended b4 an opinion was given and if that was the opinion then it should just have been settled..and it could have been settled as yes and then if he was still goverener for some reason after monday reversed as needed as was the amy winehouse question..and if the tie is purple that question should be voided..once again people arent going to waste their time analyzing what purple really is..its purple..thats it..sorry to go off track.:)

the question says "fired" not bought out or any other mitigating cicumstances..he was not fired..if every question was settled with one thing equaling another there would be many answers for many questions..if buyout was an option it would be different but its not
Bought out is not the same as fired..a buy out can be done for a number of reasons..a buy out is a mutual agreement which may or may not be in his contract..a firing means at least one of the parties (the one being fired) is opposed to it or has no say..if he was going to be fired he would have had to have been suspended first and been allowed an appeal or he could have sued the school..this happened with a different coach

my question is..the toshiba question was settled WITHOUT a formal announcement..they made a statement that seemed like they were most likely going to stop making dvd-hd and it was settled..here bush is making a statement making his stance clear..y do we have to wait for a formal announcement here but didn't for toshiba question..thats my issue..consistency
