Doesnt mean i dont agree with that i was just commenting on the misquoting. buying stocks would give them a small ownership over the company, that is true. However if they chose not to buy stocks, then the americans money isnt going to be returned. Also, even if they didnt buy the stocks, the whole point of the bailout is that the government keeps a firm eye on the company and tells them what to do and when. Buying stocks only means that in the end, americans get at least part of our money back.

Randburg i totally agree with you. As much as i dont like it Obama won. I am going to go by my methods so so far, in my mind, he has a approval rating of 0 for me. Also you are right that when people realize that obama has NO power over the world economy his poll numbers may take a hit. In fact, obama is going to be even less powerful than bush because bush is leading over a country that has a democratic congress, which he can veto against (even though he has yet to veto a single bill from the democratic congress) and that, odds are, the bills presented before him are going to have to lean somewhat right to get his approval!

Your right, Obama only has 4 years. He wont be able to do that much. As for guns, Guns are a gaurenteed right given to us by our forefathers. I realize that guns were less effective back then but they still had the capacity to kill. Our forefathers knew that by allowing us to have guns they would be opening a door for a few crimes but they accepted that and allowed us to have it as a personal protection against government and criminals. Besides, its very hard for criminals to get there hands on a gun. For one thing there are mandatory background checks whenever you buy a gun! A lot of the people i know who usually vote republican feel guilty about something that happened over a hundred years ago and is not there fault in the slightest so they voted for Obama.

I think that obama and factcheck.org are being very strange. They attempt to humiliate burg for trying to find out something that he has every right to know. He has every right in the world to know if Obama is a citizen. He brought to light a very serious question. The obama campaign is trying so hard to discredit burg as opposed to simply bringing his papers to court. Why is the question i want to know. Why did he file legal defensive action after legal defensive action as opposed to giving the american people information we have every right to. Even if he was basing his suit on "frivlous rumors" he still has the right to know if his canidate is a natural born citizen. I think that the court should grant him this information just based on that.

@pixel The problem with obamas tax increases can be stated in two statements: 1: Hes raising taxes for the people who employ people 2: His measure of rich keeps lowering (Joe Biden's latest call for tax breaks for the middle class -- "people making under $150,000 a year." ) However there is some merit to Obamas ideas. If you give money to the middle class and put money in there pockets that is good for the economy. And this does work! This has been proven several times in history (the new deal) However i like a plan that costs less and helps a lot more. If you help the people who employ everyone else then the money can be used to employ people, giving them more money than if we just gave it straight to the middle class, and make more jobs in the US. After all, tax cuts arent going to help you if you have nothing to be taxed! But still these are just two methods that both work for solving the same problem! Democrats, republicans, they both have a idea in mind that has been proven to work! The only difference is we got chuck norris. You dont.

Bush is a great man. One of the best presidents we have had! I always wonder when i hear about someone who doesnt like him if they actually have any understanding of the way the us works. The president doesnt decide if we go to war. Thats the senates job. The President doesnt have any say on how we handle disasters such as katrina. Thats the senates job(democratic senate that time). The president cant even offer suggestions to the senate on these issues because thats illegal. He can declare a state of national emergency.... with the senates approval of course. If you want to blame someone for the problems our nation has undergone blame Obama and his cronys over in senate. Now none of the problems we have is there fault. The economy, katrina, credit crisis, these are not senates fault. In fact a lot of these problems were cultivated when there was a republican senate. However the handling of these crisis's (or lack of handling i should say) qualifys them for the worst congress ever.

Pros: Includes all new users
Cons: Doesnt include anyone who lost money. Also includes a lot of users who made accounts this week then never used them again.

BTW in case anyone is wondering, i decided to count anyone who has made a prediction within this quarter as an active member. This does allow for over inflation because a lot of people make on prediction, decide they dont like it, then leave, but as a rough sketch we have about 2915 active members. That means that approximatly 22% of people who make an account with hubdub become active members.

I agree with you on one thing, congress is a bunch of do nothings. Nancy peloski is anti progressive and has a history of stalling for as long as possible. If we could throw out her, and the rest of the do nothing democrats in congress, to make way for some progress giving republicans we could get this country moving again!
