Hi Greg - Don't know if John dropped you a note already, but with the new business rules in play, you can run the DJIA digit question up to 5 minutes before the bell. That should definitely boost interest. Also, the NASDAQ one, if it remains, would have to suspend prior to the opening bell since we're locking up the in-play markets to only a handful. How come you do your holidays in Switzerland?

Not sure where its going wrong.. Here's a step by step:
1) Choose a picture and save it to your hard drive
2) When creating a market choose that picture
3) When previewing that market (step 3 I think) it won't show up, but its still there
4) If you go back to edit after that preview screen you have to add it again
Let me know if that didn't help at all!

Hey Greg - any chance you can start including pictures in the digits markets? The questions can't be featured unless they have a picture and its taking a lot of time to go drop pictures into all the markets. Thanks for keeping up with them! Hopefully I'll have time to play them again after the Olympics are over :)

Thanks for the shouts. I used to help more with the mlb questions, but its been a while. sdchargers took over and is doing a great job. I think everyone appreciates what he is doing. I didn't notice my typo until after I posted the question. I wish there was a way to edit your own questions, maybe some day. I had also suggested the question creators get a little something for each question that gets settled. Thought it would be nice if there was a little incentive for people to want to make questions(maybe $20H as a thank you??). Anyhow, good job with the ones you have created and good luck with your predictions!

Yeah, he has me confused too. I think he was just fiddling with the questions for a day to play with the suspend times. He won't be doing them long term. I'll go yell at him again for hijacking the questions last week without warning you. Please keep up your excellent work!

Hey thanks for that shout Greg.
I was trying to think of something different for the baseball questions to add some variety to the regular ole "who will win". I am testing this type to see if it should be mixed in with the regular one or not. If enough enjoy this type of market I can guarantee to keep em coming. If not, well it was worth the shot to try something different and new.

I think 30 minutes is as close to bell as we should go. Ideally I think an hour or two would be most fair. But seems to be people who visit site just for these so have to keep everyone happy. Depending on who takes over the Business category editor position, there will probably be further clarifications. In the meantime, as a community we can set the suspend times and see how they work.

No plans to take it over. I simply wanted to create markets with a suspend time 30 minutes before close. Feel free to create the market with whatever suspend time you want, I just wanted to see how much activity occurred on a market with earlier suspend time. I am someone who believes these questions should suspend earlier rather than later.

No worries. I trust you :) You've been really doing an amazing job keeping up with those. Makes my attempts even more rubbish! Thanks for taking them under your wing..

BTW, there have been some discussions about moving back the suspend times a little bit to make it more predictive and less of a money maker for people. The DOW digit question should be exempt, because you never really know where its going, but there NASDAQ question (if the pushback is implemented) would need to move back 30 or 45 mintues. We'll let you know if that's the decision, but if you have a strong opinion on the matter, feel free to use 'contact us' or you can simply pass it to me (my email is on my profile) and I'll pass it on to the crowd.

Kelly mentioned something about you being out of town this week, so I made the digit questions this afternoon. PLEASE don't think that means I want them back!! (I really don't) If you're around to do them this week, that's gravy. Just trying to give kelly a break as he seemed to have a lot to keep up with already.

I have a LOT of money in two politics questions that others don't seem to agree with.. Hopefully I will jump higher soon as politics is usually my favorite category!

Wow, great catch! I hadn't even noticed that today...

There were some hiccups with the implementation of the new timezone stuff last week. It was causing all of the time sensitive markets to close an hour late... Rob (the admin who settled the financial markets today) apparently thought that problem was still in effect so he backed up the settlement time by an hour (to what he thought was the closing bell, but was instead an hour before the closing bell).

I don't think the bets can be unvoided, but this shouldn't happen again in the future.

Umm... no big changes that I know of... there have been some bad suspend times so perhaps if you made bets after the time the question was supposed to suspend? If you give me an example I might have a coherent explanation :)

Hey Greg thanks for posting the college ranking question, I made out pretty good on it. I was following the ACC championship game to see who won, figuring if Miami won they would get the #1 ranking. I wouldnt normally keep track of college baseball if it wasnt for the hubdub questions asked about it.
