When I requested a settlement to be done showing that all the admins I've shown that to have said they're waiting for a story to see that the acid has been dripped in the guys face.. not the fact that the judge has said its okay to do it. That's completely wrong. :(

Thank you. That was a down right interesting article. I love that it's Utah and that the viewership declines during Church hours on Sunday. Too funny. These are typically the same folks who live in dry counties but have really well stocked bars hidden in their homes.

I've been trying to figure out how to incorporate some of these studies into q's and they do make great Q's for reading and betting but settling is another matter.

For example, I've been looking at trying to frame a Q around teen pregnancies in States that are hard core abstinence only for their sex education. Texas fits that category and up till 2006 they were in the lead. But then Mississippi (also a bible belt state) and New Mexico beat em out by like 4-5 more per 1000 kids. The problem is I can not accurately ascertain WHEN the CDC or another reliable agency will release findings for a certain year. Best I can figure is it looks like it SOMETIMES happens in June/July and they tend to run 2 years behind. That makes picking a settlement date difficult and it saddens me because I do so love exposing those who oppress and resist education because they are the people who cause these fetishs, addictions and perversions. This country is SO backwards in so many ways and it seems to always relate somehow to religious beliefs.

I'm going to keep trying though...this info HAS to be somewhere all neat and tidy waiting for me to discover it.

The super user who looks over it for the control is refusing to close it. If you look at the most recent Flag for Settlement request, (mine), you'll see the story on CNN was updated DECEMBER 24th. They're refusing to even see the girl until she's 18.

Well im not going to lye to you, its pretty funny. Have you ever said aye? Is it appropiate to use the word aye at the end of any sentence? Is it spelled aye or eh? Do YOU speak french? Do you live within a 100 miles of the border (as 90% of your population does) between america and canada? Do you admit that the USA is superior or do you think its the other way around? We were working all expenses paid. (a unique situation) But ya they would have preferred to be working at home and maybe could have but this project was lucrative. It was union work with lots of overtime. A massive gas plant which is a significant component of Western Canada's infrastructure.

People don't speak french here except amongst themselves. Only the province of Quebec is french and some communities mostly in Central and Eastern provinces. Canada is mostly English speaking by far. Mind you...A Canadian french person would probably get upset if they read how I just explained that. In Newfoundland and Labrador they speak English but some of them are almost impossible to understand.

Watching Palin talk has provided us with new enlightenment on how funny it must be to hear us talk.

Personally i think universal health care is a bad idea. I really like McCain's plan of 5000 dollar rebates for my health care. Now im going to be honest, my health care cost more than 5000 but there are plans out there that do cost 5000 and this will help me pay for part of my health care.

I'm not quite sure what has happened, but somehow I got "unfriended" after your shout three days ago. I'm sure it was an accident of some sort...

After looking again at curios' question about the Butt Bandit, I'm pretty sure that one or more admins ALREADY edited his question to get it into such a clear format. We all admire curios' activity in writing questions, but I am fully aware that he is not the easiest to deal with...So I admire you for trying to steer him (and the rest of us) in the right direction, and I probably was out of place to say anything. I apologize for interfering...

But I accept that the rule is to try not to discourage question creators.

Why don't I create markets? I wrote a few in February and March but got discouraged when some of them were voided. You will remember in those days we made little effort to edit or clarify with authors. I really should try writing some questions again, especially since you bring it to my attention...Of course, today, we all have a better idea what questions should look like and why they often need assistance...I will probably also need help in writing them, at least as I start again. Thanks for the encouragement (at least I am taking it that way).

Long before text messaging, emails, and computers, there were typewriters (archaic museum pieces). And those of us who did our college termpapers on typewriters (which was vastly more difficult and cumbersome than computers), used capital letters as headings. So, it still comes naturally to me (and perhaps to some others) that capital letters belong as a heading at the top of a page. I never thought of capitals as yelling, but I can see your point and agree with you: especially in text messaging. Also having a good look again around hubdub, I agree with you that lower case with good punctuation DOES look much better than capitals! And so I stand corrected and will defintiely follow your suggestion when I start to write questions again. Thanks for pointing this out to me.

I agree with you again: that a uniform approach keeps the site looking good. My Mother used to say "I can't argue with you when you are right", and I appreciate your good viewpoints.

Mork, thanks for the link to the CBC article. Two things, that was the Canadian Human Right Commission, the BC Human Rights Commission has yet to rule. Also, I suspect Steyn & McLean's secretly want the decision to go against them so they can appeal to a court of law.

It looks to be very newsworthy to me but I'm struggling to come up with a market on it, you're good at these. At first I was thinking some kind of a play on words with the syllables of axe, tax to reacts, sacks, hacks or facts, but I couldn't come up with anything I liked. But, now that BC is making this legal precedent it does seem that this trend could go either way, that more jurisdictions would jump on the band wagon, or that the citizenry of BC would indeed revolt. Mork, I've considered this also for a market and was stymied as well. The whole think just makes me want to puke. Reminds me of a couple of things...Children of Men when woemn worldwide have become sterile, like the reference to women in Japan, also Freejack when Emilio Estevez is snatched from the past to the future because his body is not yet tainted like everyone else. Honestly, I think this is at least as grave a concern (pollution) as global warming, probably more so. I can get more motivated by this kind of thing than the possibility of manking induced global warming which may likely involve a significant natural element beyond our control. But making and tossing plastic IS something we could chose to do differently. I applaud you for thinking of adding this, it needs more exposure.... hmmmnnn can you find stats about how much plastic is produced annually? It's largely petroeum based, so perhaps the price of oil will finally apply some downward pressure. Personally I like to buy glass containers whenever possible vs. plastic and I also created a market once about Whole Foods discontinuing plastic bags, but I agree, it is a tough one. I wonder if there are stats anywhere that reference live birth rates of countries? I'll think about it some more, but thanks for sharing, feel free to send stuff my way any time.

BTW... I grew up in Washington state and attended Univ in BC and have spent a lot of time in Canada during my life, one thing I always appreciate is the general resepect for the enviromonment that y'all have, more apparent than what we have here in the states.

I don't know if you've had a chance to catch up on the Steyn BC HRC case, but it looks as though one of these cases has finally entered the public forum to the extent that the commissioners might be forced to acquit MacLeans/Steyn or face public ridicule.

My understanding is that these commissions were established around 20+ years ago with the best intentions (one of my favorite sayings is, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions"), to provide a forum where folks who were discriminated against in "real" ways like employment discrimination based on sex, or housing discrimination based on race, could seek redress without needing to have the resources to hire an attorney. It appears that for many years the HRCs achieved their goals with little fanfare, little controversy, and some success.

But recently it seems they have been hijacked by activists with an agenda. Maybe they were always controlled by activists with an agenda, but the agenda has changed in the past decade. Rather than be advocates for the downtrodden, they have become the commissars of political correctness, and cultural appeasement.

Heh, I'd claim my role was more like anti-spyware. You may have seen this statistic already, but the Canadian HRC's have a 100% conviction rate for "hate speech". You might want to consider moving south, the US is far from the Federalist system envisioned by our founding fathers, but despite the Patriot Act (ugh!) Thank you for enlightening me of the plights of Mark Steyn. As a Canadian I found this considerably upsetting. I wonder if complainants like these have researched our laws on ways to be manipulated better than none other. I see our tax dollars being devoured by a bureaucracy intent only on destroying the ability to speak freely, with the livelihood of a talented reporter being left in it's wake. Unfortunately no, one needs to be quite fit to hike that trial as it's not for beginners. In fact there are companies that specialise in taking visitors to Kokoda, and part of the program includes one week of fitness training! Maybe one day, I'll be fit enough.... ;o)

Dutch Canadian, eh.. Do you speak Dutch then. Just about any at all is better than I can do. I joked with kruis that I would have to use an internet translator to put together any real sentences in Dutch, and he sent back his answer in four languages (translated of course by an internet translator, Babelfish I assume). It's amazing (and hilariously funny) how bad a lot of these translations are. He knew that, of course... good sense of humor, that guy.

I declare to you admins, that you have treated ALL legitimate hubdubbers in an unethical manner, you have disrespected those who love and support the game and have potentially fed a "gaming" environment that actually encourages cheating against the upright in this hubdub community.
Until this issue is resolved in an agreeable manner, you have lost (username) as a loyal member of this site and I will no longer sing the praises of hubdub.com to anyone, nor invite anyone I know to join, until this matter is resolved.
