Nice question - I'm betting on the Indian teams!
One bookmaker I looked at has England as a very slight favourite
Well, that changed things a bit!
@orlin
Great question, thanks. Personally, I think England should have started as 60-70% favourite, but the market disagrees with me completely. I will be heavily backing England at those odds!
Here is a link listing the length of some previous addresses:

Yes, even more interesting if you are Australian and heading overseas soon.
Come on 76 cents or more!
I don 't think it's 2.8 -0.3=2.5%, it looks like just -0.3%, which would settle as yes.
Apparently Clinton pardoned 140 people in the final hours of his presidency

BJ Haddin 114
MJ Clarke 109
I can't believe he's riding on the same team as Contador. Contador's going to be hard to beat, but he could at least be racing against him!
Just realised that I backed all 3 outcomes - hmmm
How can you settle out of court in a rape case? Isn't it the state prosecuting, not an individual?
What does pulling off a shock mean? Winning a match or making the semis?
I was taking it as regular season, but it's a good point because the question doesn't say.
This page explains the data file:

The first entry after the date is the best estimate of the anomaly.

What's going on - this question exists three times by two different users - and it still doesn't make sense
Well, who probably will win.

The two favourites missed out!
"The six finalists chosen for the prestigious Man Booker Prize were revealed on Tuesday (9 September).

The shortlist for this year comprises: The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga; The Secret Scripture by Sebastian Barry; Sea of Poppies by Amitav Ghosh; The Clothes on Their Backs by Linda Grant; The Northern Clemency by Philip Hensher; and A Fraction of the Whole by Steve Toltz.

The Guardian reported that this year the shortlist was notable for the authors who were absent from it. Although they were included on the longlist, Joseph O'Neill's best-selling novel Netherland, Michelle de Kretser's The Lost Dog and, most surprisingly, Salman Rushdie's The Enchantress of Florence failed to sufficiently impress the judging panel. The panel included Michael Portillo, as chairman, and Louise Doughty, who stated that they were prepared for criticism over their choice of six finalists.

The winner will be announced on 14 October and will receive EUR50,000. The Man Booker Prize is open to citizens of the British Commonwealth and the Republic of Ireland. "
The PM has been sacked - for his role in Tasting and Grumbling - but I assume this doesn't constitute a change of government?
They are still 15th and 16th in the September rankings
Sorry, that was the Stage 4 results. The overall standings after Stage 4 are at http://www.lavuelta.com/08/ingles/resultados/general4.html?e=4
"An underwhelming day on the mileage front today. Same number of rowing hours as usual, but it takes the cooperation of the weather to produce impressive leaps forward. Ar the moment I would say I'm 70% likely to arrive on 1st Sept, 30% likely to arrive later than that. I won't know for sure until I get there!"

Does anybody know where to find Seattle rainfall data?
Currently sitting tantalisingly on 13 - assuming that I can count, which is a major unknown
I agree, but not worth the risk with your 10000 pushing up the odds. Good bet for you though.
Yep - we've got 8 of them. Six states, plus (Darwin capital of the Northern Territory) and Canberra, the national capital. The question wouldn't look at all strange to an Australian, but I can understand how it would to someone else.
Of course I want the question voided because I have 10 k riding on it. However, I don't think that I misread the question. The question asks "Will France be at 7th or higher place at the final overall medal tally classification?" To me the overall medal tally classification just means the medal tally - the heading on the official site is Overall Medal Standings. You can then sort the medal tally however you like, but the usual way is by gold then silver then bronze. France are currently ranked 12th on the official "overall medal standings".

However, if this is clear to everybody else then perhaps it is just my problem. Just trying to explain where I'm coming from.
Yes, but they are also 11th. This question is unclear and I think it should be voided.
Semifinals on from 19th to 21st September
I thought these were pool games when I set them up, so included ties. I hope nobody predicted a tie!
Now up to 10 days, so it looks like there are only two possible outcomes
I actually have no idea, but they were offering odds for a tie on the betting site I looked at. Until I saw that I assumed they would play overtime.

However, there is no mention of a tie on the fiba website, so maybe it can't happen. Oh well.
I really can't see the issue with the summer thing. Presumably, 65 degree days won't occur in Anchorage outside what can be broadly termed summer. It would have been confusing if the question was "will this be the wettest summer" or something similar.

Still 8 days after 6th August for those interested.
Charlton - aren't they an English football team?
8 days through 2nd August
This site has nationalities: http://info.lgu.org/tic/tmlsmon.cgi?tourn=WB08~cardlink=Y~~season=2008~style=00~groupties=Y~pr=Y~textout=N~bordersize=1~fontsize=*~winfocus=Y~ize=*~winfocus=Y~
Is there a link that we can use to settle this? There seem to be a lot of weather stations around Anchorage.

I looked at this station - http://english.wunderground.com/history/airport/PAMR/2008/1/1/CustomHistory.html?yearend=2008&monthend=7&dayend=29 - and got 10 days.

While this one - http://english.wunderground.com/history/airport/PANC/2008/1/1/CustomHistory.html?yearend=2008&monthend=7&dayend=29 - gives me six.

I'd like to know how the paper worked out 7 days.
So that would make a Zimbabwe dollar worth about as much as a Hubdub dollar?
Turns out there are actually six numbers. This changes things somewhat, so scratch the above and replace with the below:

<10 0.002%
10-19 0.4%
20-29 7%
30-39 46%
40-43 46%

I'll be betting on 3
I got these probabilities using a monte carlo analysis - highest number of 5 random numbers between 1 and 43. I hope I got these right or the whole thing is incorrect.

<10 0.01%
10-19 1.2%
20-29 11%
30-39 48%
40-43 40%
The final overall winner of the tour
The way the tournament has gone, the team that bats first makes a big score and then loses. Maybe you should bowl first?
What about $51 to $55 million?
And, what does $40.7 million settle as? Are we rounding to the nearest million?
Shouldn't the question be 'How many countries have a higher population than the vote total?'
WIll the postponed game still be included as part of the series?
This could be running or swimming.
I don't think there are any draws in 20/20 cricket - washouts, yes - but that's not really a draw
