Hey, I see we have a lot of mutual friends. You guys are impressively multilingual. I only speak English (the American kind), C, C++, SQL and a bunch of the *nix scripting languages (I am particularly proficient in sed and awk). But English is the only language in which I can carry on a conversation (at least with a non-programmer 8^).

we kunnen ook hetgeen wat we willen zeggen door de bablefish draaien, van nederlands (ofwel engels) naar frans, over spaans enzovoorts ... eens zien, wat er dan over blijft.

o.k., attend aussi, me avoir traduire aussi la machine nécessaire... mais ce n'est pas ou bien ennuyeux, ou ? nous pouvons aussi ce qui ce que voulons nous dire tourner par le bablefish, de néerlandais (soit anglais) vers français, de espagnol et ainsi de suite... voir une fois, ce qui reste alors.

¿o.k., espera también, tenerme traducir también la máquina necesaria... pero esto no es o aburrida, o? podemos también lo que lo que quieren decirnos que vuelva por el bablefish, de neerlandés (o sea inglés) hacia francés, de español y así sucesivamente... ver una vez, lo que permanece entonces.

what about exercising our dutch skills - mine have become kind of rusty too meanwhile. as said, i grow up in germany, so my mother-tongue is german rather than dutch actually. but all of my family is resides in the netherlands.

Welcome, Friend! How does a Dutch-German-Swiss get to be a RAIDERS fan? I am fascinated. I quite like Holland, southern Germany, and southern Switzerland. The little bit of dutch you wrote for Kruijs looks good to me! I don't think you will miss afrikaans at all...

Well by what you showed until now, you learned a few more than just a beetje dutch, i assume you're able to follow a conversation and contribute in a sense full meaning?
I think you're right about the dutch knowledge of english. That's mostly because it is taught at school as compulsory subject for a few years (alongside to german and french) and also because television shows and movies are not synchronized but shown in their original language with subtitles (which is not common in most countries).
But, me has always a german-english dictionary next to me :)

Well we would have to be in Germany to go to it, Munich to be precise, although I haven't a clue where it is. It was during their annual Oktober Bierfest where they have these massive beer halls. You'll notice that the glass holds about 2 pints. I take it you are a Raiders fan?

HAHAHA well I'm sure there are people somewhere who don't like me. But I really haven't been here in Hubdub all that long a time, and I've been concentrating more on figuring out how to play it well and less on talking to people here and getting myself in trouble for being opinionated! I live in California, in the L.A. area. Ik ken maar een beetje nederlands. I learned a little mostly from chatting with Dutch people while playing online games. One thing I've noticed is that Dutch speakers have very good knowledge of English, more so than most Europeans I think. I'm always impressed by them.
