The Olympic torch arrived in San Francisco on Tuesday for the latest stage of its worldwide relay amid contradictory reports about whether the International Olympic Committee is for the first time considering cutting short the relay or amending the route after the torch’s stops in London and Paris descended into chaos because of anti-Chinese protests.
A spokeswoman for the I.O.C., Emmanuelle Moreau, said the body’s executive board will meet on Thursday and Friday in Beijing, and will discuss the problems in London and Paris and the remaining route of the international torch relay.
But she said there were no plans to change the route, or any plans to discuss canceling the international leg. “As we speak now, the expectation is the torch will follow the planned route," she said.
China, the host of the summer games, on Tuesday criticized the wild street protests that marred the torch’s appearance in London on Sunday and in Paris on Monday but insisted that the international relay would proceed unchanged.
“No force can stop the torch relay of the Olympic Games,” Sun Weide, a spokesman for the Beijing organizing committee, said in Beijing, The Associated Press reported. “We are confident the torch relay of the Beijing Olympic Games will succeed.”
But some I.O.C. officials, speaking in Beijing, appeared to indicate that the future of the route was on the agenda later this week. They indicated they could consider cutting short or amending the relay for the current Olympic games or for future games.
“We are going to of course discuss the torch relay,” Jacques Rogge, the IOC president, told reporters, Agence France-Presse reported. “We will discuss this and we will see what we have to do now that we have had six or seven legs," he said.
“We will make an analysis of what has happened and then we will draw the necessary conclusions,” he said.
I.O.C. Vice President Thomas Bach said the I.O.C. might consider suspending the international relay, although he said he opposed any suspension, The A.P. reported.
“I believe we might have the discussion, but we shouldn’t let the violence determine our actions," he said, according to the A.P.
Ms. Moreau, the IOC spokeswoman, said the officials had been “misinterpreted” when they spoke to reporters after attending meetings of their national Olympic committees in Beijing.
Chinese officials had originally hoped that the torch relay would serve to highlight China’s triumphal emergence as a global power. But it has turned into a high-profile venue for protesters angry over the Chinese crackdown in Tibet, intolerance for political dissent, environmental degradation and other issues.
The torch’s San Francisco stop was the sixth stop of a global itinerary that began last month in Greece, where pro-Tibetan demonstrators briefly interrupted the torch’s lighting and its subsequent progress through Athens. The monthlong tour is scheduled to end in Vietnam in three weeks. That is to be followed by a six-week, 46-stop tour of China.
In Paris on Monday, as it passed through the French capital under armed guard, the torch was extinguished several times, and police officers were forced to move it aboard a bus to protect it as demonstrators swarmed the security detail surrounding the torch.
Chinese Olympic organizers abruptly canceled the last leg on the Paris route, as well as a stop at City Hall, where a banner proclaimed, “Paris Defends Human Rights Everywhere in the World.”
In London a day earlier, pro-Tibetan demonstrators similarly turned the torch’s progression through the streets into a tumult of scuffles between the police and protesters.
Along the way, numerous protesters seeking to reach the torch were wrestled to the ground by police officers. The police said that one man broke through a tight security cordon and made a failed grab for the torch, and that 35 people were arrested.
In San Francisco on Monday, ahead of the torch’s arrival on its only stop in the United States, several protesters scaled the vertical suspension cables of the Golden Gate Bridge and unfurled two large banners reading, “One World, One Dream,” and “Free Tibet 08.” At least seven people were arrested.
The city’s mayor, Gavin Newsom, met the police on Monday to consider last-minute changes to the torch’s route through the city and new security measures.
The international tour has proven jarring for Beijing. What organizers had considered an occasion to celebrate the Olympics’ sporting ideals of peace and harmony has turned into a daylong contest between China’s supporters and demonstrators protesting China’s crackdown in Tibet and its wider human rights record.
On Monday, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton became the latest of a small but growing number of leading political figures in the United States and Europe who have called for a boycott of the opening ceremony of the Games.
Olympic officials said the violent protests risked damaging the Olympic movement. The scenes of protests may also be troubling news for sponsors of the torch relay, which include Coca-Cola, Lenovo and Samsung Electronics. Advertising analysts estimate the companies have paid as much as $15 million each to sponsor the relay.

I bet $10,000, will get $17,000 . Rather not say where, but there is still a chance I might lose the cash(though I doubt it)
Please don't take this as a gaming ploy, but I expect to make a large amount of cash soon. Within 24 hours. About $7000.
And void if its someone else. The chances(I think) are slim, so don't void now. Oh yeah, i forgot diana.
hi.
I want to make it clear that I am
NOT
defending satyaki's actions: it's just that I felt going on "strike" and posting comments aren't sensible means to get what you want. But then, looking at the non-responsive staff, I think that that is the only way to go. Though I don't wanna go on strike.
I think that these measures hould be taken:
1. When questions are made which repreent local interests, by any user, then the question should be flagged and suspended. A user who actually knows something about this should be consulted and they should provide substantiated proof that the question is OK or not.
2. Satyaki: Reduce his H$ to $25,000. I don't think anything could be more bugging to him. ban him from creating more than 2 questions a week, which if voided for a gaming-related reason will lead to a fine of 25% of his wealth or double his wager, as the case may be.
3. Hubdub: become more responsive. PLEASE.

See, this may be going away from the point at hand: As much as we all like competing with others and being high on the leaderboard, the fact is that this is a news prediction site and that isn't happening. Sad, but true. What is the big deal about satyaki getting ahead of you? Does that make you a lesser being? Doe you lose respect? Or your job? If he wants to cheat, he must be stopped, but that doesn't make it a need to remove him from the website. Don't bother telling me that you have never cheated in your life (even if you do, I won't believe it). You're here to predict the news. Do that. You're here to give input. Do that. To have fun. Do that. But you're not here to be the Defence Minister or the Chief of police. You don't roam around in your neighborhood 24X7 looking for thieves, though you don't want them You report it to the police and let it be. Do that here. Mt argument may be flawed, but whatever. I'm still going to object to banning users, specially those who have reduced their gaming to a large extent. The temptation is there. Stop it, and you'll win. Trust me.
Aren't you going overboard? You talk as if satyaki has assassinated your President or something... All he did was cheat (which 40 out of 50 school students do).
Wrong ? Yes.
Needs to be corrected? Yes.
Needs to be hung/placed in front of a firing squad? No.
"satyaki doesn't know that I'll continue to track him to the end of Hubdubworld if necessary, and that, the only place he might find sanctuary is to simply leave. Are you obsessed?

Though not probable, did you consider that maybe :
(i) He meant it to be a good thing?
(ii) He thinks that making paper from trees is bad?

And please don't void this. This is to draw attention to this; don't skirt away from the topic. If you wish, suspend it: any gaming will be prevented that way. Let user's opinions come in, then void later (if you have to).

However, I realised that would be gaming, so I modified it to this:
class calc
{public void main()
{double yes,no,finalyes=1;
double i;
for(i=1;i<100;i=i+0.01)
{yes =i;
no=(100-i);
double ratio=no/yes;
yes=yes/100;
if(ratio>yes)
finalyes=yes*100;
}
System.out.println("For No: Yes % must be:"+finalyes+"% or more");
}
}
class calc

double ratio=no/yes;

if(ratio>yes)
finalyes=yes*100;
}
System.out.println("For No: Yes % must be:"+finalyes+"% or more");
}
}
For No: Yes % must be:61.79999999999627% or more
I wasn't ready to trust anyone, so I tried out this Java code to detect:
class calc

It returned an output:
