Hey, glad you like the questions. I'm really liking the site so far.

As far as the weekly baseball challenge, the easiest way to settle from what I have seen is to use ESPN's sortable stats. You can sort by the last seven days, so the totals would have to be checked on monday before the games start, I have not found a stat site that you can enter a particular date range to search for stats. If I find one I'll pass it on.

I'm a little bit surprised, because I thought the easy money was in sports and stock market questions (if you know how to handle them). I'm not good with either sports or the stock market, and generally lose if I play either. (I have had best luck with political, general, and world). Elly is really good with the stock market, and is likely to pass me soon. I thought you had the advantage, considering 74% of the questions are sports questions...! I guess -- to each of us -- the hubdub dollars look greener on the other side!..LOL...At least the three of us are friendly!

I think its so nice that you offered to hand "who will win"s back but unfortunately my new schedule right now really doesnt give me a whole lot of time. good to hear from you. Have enjoyed our chats. I did well with Philly and Dolphins but lost it on chargers, titans, celtics, etc. Will not be visiting hubdub after super bowl. I, along with others, do not like admins favoritism towards certain people on this site. I enjoyed hubdub when I joined last Feb. but it has changed and not for the better. I have trouble accessing and using it (only site I have any trouble with) and I am not changing my settings since they work fine on every other site I use. (many since I surf constantly). I enjoy Fan IQ which Destry turned me on to. I am glad Donovan won he deserves it and I think the Eagles will beat the Cardinals. They are hungry and motivated as are the Ravens who I feel with beat Pittsburgh even though I do not particularly care for either team. A happy and healthy new year to you.

well tonite is the big nite for Florida...I have bet the farm on my Gators. I truly think they are a better team. Their defense is awesome, Harvin will be playing and of course their major weapon Tebow is all fired up to win. Oklahoma made him even more inclined to play even harder with their calling him a fourth quarterback in the rankings. All I can say is GO GATORS cream Oklahoma.

I was not aware of the Chargers' injuries and now they say big Ben is all better and recovered from his concussion. However, on any given day an underdog can win and the motivation of the chargers is high. I will be rooting for them for you and for me. I don't really care about the other games. I like the Titans and Philly might put up a good fight.

Cardinals Panthers: I take Panthers Cardinals are too erratic.
Titans Ravens: I take Titans; better all around team and can contain Ravens defense better than poor Dolphins did.
Eagles Giants: I take Giants with trepidation cause I am not sure they will play as well as they need to and the Eagles are super motivated.
Last: Chargers/Steelers; I take Chargers Big Ben is not healthy and they did not win all key games. However, it is a home game for them so it is fairly even, except that I like the Chargers (always have).

Hung over today? lol Gotta root for Dolphins to do same and win today!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the shout about the NFL POTW questions. Getting in early on some of those markets can pay big. (Example: Week 14, S, Ed Reed) Then MNF comes around and punishes you on half the questions (Example: Week 14, RB, DeAngelo Williams). :-)

Hey there! I just wanted to shout at you and tell you I think its amazing the NFL who will wins (without spreads) are now getting over 100 predictors on them. Thinking back to the begining of the season when everyone was discussing whether its a good idea to run both markets or not....its amazing to see how popular those questions have become. I have not seen those. I think there is no harm in running both markets and allowing the users to decide what they feel more comfortable with. Thanks for the comment on the NFL POTW questions. Now the trick is getting the answers correct. I only got 2 of 6 last week and this week looks just as muddled.

hey there- wanted to say thank you for creating those NFL questions without spreads. Its nice to have a choice between the two of them. I'm sure some folks are going to wager on both! As far as the percentages go, if people want to get good value, they can bet early and bet often. BTW,your changing helmet pics look great, good job. I know it takes a while to create those. I found the easiest way to do it is to have a pic for each question already saved, then go through and create them. Still takes a while, but I havent found an easier way yet. They look great! thanks again!

hey sdc- thanks for the shout. I am glad you did well with the O/U markets. Now that things have "worked out" with the staff, I plan to continue with those questions. Way to go on coming out ahead on those. Sorry you didnt do so great with the spreads' questions, I didnt do so great either. What happened to your team btw? I dont think anyone thought the panthers could pull that off (no wonder we did so bad on those). I think as the season progresses it will be easier to wager on those questions. I bet on every game, actually. I think the point spreads can be a bit intimidating and I have read some comments etc about others feeling that way, but I also understand that with the spreads, the starting percentages can be 50/50. With that people can get a better value and questions with lower percentages would attract more users. I guess all of that is debatable and we will have to see what comes of it all. Would there be any harm in posting both types or would that be considered duplicate markets? If we could get both types posted then the users wouldnt be limited to just one style. I think you and all of the staff have been doing a great job on the NFL page. It looks amazing.

hey sdchargers- Thanks for the compliments and information you left in the shout. I was upset last night after receiving an email about the o/u market. Although the email itself wasnt rude, I didnt appreciate the way things were handled. I think if the admin/super users are going to ask favors from the question creators, they should provide us with information and explaination for the request. The way the email was worded, it appeared as if I had incorrectly tagged my questions, which I had not. I would have been more willing to do the requested tagging if someone had provided me with a reason.
Now being aware of the reason, I think hubdub should try to implement some sort of auto tagger. Maybe as soon as a team name is posted, hubdub can offer some suggested tags. As a creator, we can just click the ones we would like to use (instead of having to type them all in). A feature like that would be helpful to the creators, the hubdub team as well as HDrs looking to wager on certain questions. Maybe that is something they can consider.
As far as my pictures getting changed, I was really ticked off about that. I had my own reasons for using the pics/icons I was using. I wanted my own questions and market to be uniform. I wanted the O/U questions to be easy to identify so they can easily be found or avoided. I thought using one pic for each game day would make sorting the questions a bit easier. I think if admin did not like my pictures or the way I was doing them, they should have discussed it with me. It felt like a slap in the face for all the time I have put in to creating questions(of all people, I know you are aware of the effort that goes in to that)to log on and see every picture had been changed to someone else's liking and it also mixed my questions right in making them actually harder to identify. That was a bit frustrating.
Anyhow, thanks again for the shout and for all the work and time you put in to this. It is appreciated by many.

Yes, there has been lots of talk and craziness with the whole Brett Favre scene. People have even gone out of their way to ask me where my children's Jets Favre jerseys are (they were still wearing Shockey, Giants ones). I tell you some fans really take all of this maddness very seriously! I think the preseason game with Favre facing the Giants (tonight) will be very interesting.

Being a New Yorker, I have to say my favorite team is Giants. It was exciting to see them progress last season and actually make the Super Bowl. It was even better to see them beat the Patriots (hate them!).
It looks like your Chargers have an all around solid team and I would have to agree with you on them going all the way for AFC. As far as the Cowboys (another team I cant stand) go, if TO and Romo get their stuff together, I would also have to agree with you on the Cowboys making it for NFC. (although Id like to see Giants there again, I think it would be a struggle)
If this is the way things turn out, I would be happy to see the Chargers become Super Bowl champs. I guess we will have to wait and see how it all pans out.

Hey! thanks for the shout you left a few days ago. I have been pretty busy lately and didnt have a chance to reply until now. I wanted to let you know, tater and I will do the best we can to get the MLB questions posted. We will try to do them at least the day before, if not, two days before. We really like being able to wager on EVERY game and its nice for other users to know they can wager on their favorite teams. We will also keep the O/U market going for NFL. I agree, I think those will be even more popular with the regular season starting. So we will also try to keep up with those.
We know you have been busy doing SUPER stuff...and I might add, doing a SUPER job at it. I noticed you requesting settlements and I see your screen name everywhere now, so thank you for that!

Sorry to hear you went through a similar situation with other markets you created. The questions were well constructed and you, also, did all the right things by following up with "conclusions" and requesting settlement, etc. There has been alot of talk about upcoming football season. I think football questions are going to be very popular. If the admin is already starting to feel overwhelmed by baseball ones, I cant imagine what football season will bring. It would be great if you voiced your opinions and offered some suggestions. You are like the top question creator for sports and in my opinion have done excellent keeping up with it all and producing questions daily. Please read the discussion and feel free to leave your input, the more people involved the better the outcome will be. Unfortunately the email and password doesnt automatically carry over to that site but the only way it will let you comment is by creating an account.(I also had a hard time figuring out my password for it, until I requested it, and changed it...just to give you heads up!)Now that I have been using that site more, it was worth the bit of trouble it gave me. Anyhow, I hope you decide to participate!

Its tough to come up with variations of sports questions, but I am with you on the idea of running markets for a while and seeing the interest increase. I really think the sidebets help create interest and promote users to place more wagers (isnt that one of the ideas of the site?)
I know there are alot of other questions out there with alot less action than the ones I've been making. I felt picked on and singled out and in my opinion, it sounded more like the admin was trying to say some markets arent "worth" the hassle of settling them. I am doing my best to help them out.

I just recently got hooked on your daily BB matchups although it pains me to pick against the Giants over and over again (except when Lincecum or Cain are on the mound). One of my friends lost a fortune in one weekend putting huge H$ on bad picks. :-)

Hey sdchargers (aka noNutz), thanks for the postings. Tater and I had joined this site just a few weeks ago. We thought it was a pretty neat place to do some predictions. We both really enjoy the sports questions and when we first started there seemed to be only a handful of them to bet on. We decided to give creating questions a shot so that we can make predictions on more games. Anyhow, we wanted to let you know that we are fine with you creating them. If ever you need or would like some help with it, let us know. The only reason we had stopped that time was because we were out of town a few days. As far as "when" to post questions we were pretty much doing them the evening before so that we could figure out accurate likeliness percentages (estimating using teams winning percentages). Posting too far in advance may result in unfair odds.

Yeah I saw them. I submitted images for almost all the games for tomorrow and will work on the ones for 6/25 tomorrow morning. I didn't want to overwhelm the temporary guy filling in for Donal. Hubdub doesn't really reward us for not using surplus cash, so I invest it! End result is that you win a lot, but when you lose: you lose a lot. In the end, it could be the same. Certain days when questions are not overly inspiring, it can be difficult to invest heavily. Other days, it seems to fall into place. (And then you land on your head. LOL).
